Well Geale is certainly ducking, he dropped his WBA belt to avoid Golovkin and now he is most likely going to fight a washed up Mundine for a 3rd time
More accomplished doesn't mean better. It doesn't even mean they should be getting more attention. Why should they get more attention when they're blatantly ducking this guy? Golovkin gets a lot of hype because he's a big puncher with an entertaining style and had a very accomplished amateur career. The top guys at MW have been actively avoiding this guy for several years now. In these kinds of circumstances, he's not just another prospect who hasn't beaten anyone.
The same Mundine who you said would TKO Geale? The same Geale who you said could beat Canelo? You've already shown you have no proof that Geale will fight Mundine for a third time while I've shown proof that he will most likely not fight him. he has offered to fight ANYONE from 154 - 168. Ishida is the only one with the balls to fight him. Plain, simple, and true.
If Soliman is found to have taken PED's then I believe Geale will possibly fight Macklin or Golovkin next. It's highly unlikely he will fight Mundine again. As for Canelo, I think he has a decent shot with neutral judges but that's a rare event in boxing these days.
A close fight vs. N'Jikam many thought he won is far more indicative of being suited for middleweight success than getting shut out against Pirog and Williams and winning a KO over a clearly underprepared fellow junior middle in Kirkland at 158. Why would it be set in stone that HBO wouldn't approve him for June? They approved Proksa and Golovkin after all.
Ummmm, why wouldn't HBO have approved Proksa. He was a deserving top 5 RING rated MW when GGG fought him. Man, i really don't understand all the flack this guy is getting. Well, i guess it's because losers can't stand a winner.
Proksa was not top 5 when Golovkin fought him. And the reason HBO presumably wouldn't accept Khurtsidze, lack of notoriety, is a reason which would have equally applied to a guy they nevertheless still approved in Proksa.
Beating undefeated Kirkland by KO is a bigger deal than running NJikam close, that's just how it is. So his name is worth more. Maybe Khurtsidze is a better middle, but it's marginal, as his last fight shows. I just don't see the big deal. You don't really think they'd put Khurtsidze on HBO? Why Proksa instead: 1. he was Ring top 10 2. he was promoted by Eddie Hearn. no idea who the other guy is promoted by 3. Polish fighters can be quite marketable in the US 4. he's not 5'2 5. he speaks good English, is smart and personable 6. had a semi high profile, very impressive win over known quantity Sylvester 7. he was a late replacement ... Ok, I answered your question. How about you tell me, which MW contender will step up vs GGG next?
