Golovkin will deserve the ridicule if Mora gets a shot. It represents a continued regression. Stevens already was a step down from Macklin. This would be very disappointing, as Mora is a huge drop off from Murray.
yeah but who he should fight if all the top fighters from MW are not willing to fight him ? :think 3G is staying busy till he'll get that shot @ Martinez title. Going up @ smw and fight Ward or Froch is way too risky IMO.
Not really. This is in Monte Carlo, not prime time HBO. The only goodish opponent i thought he might get there was Murray.
I'm not saying they could have realistically found anyone better than Mora to bring to Monte Carlo with Murray unavailable. I'm saying there is a huge drop-off in h2h risk for GGG between Murray and Mora.
He lost to Vera legitimately, both times. He was considerably more accurate but it didn't matter as landed a drastically smaller quantity due to Vera's sheer work rate, sloppy though it was. Forrest took Mora lightly, once (and still probably should have edged it or held to a draw), learned from the error and then completely dominated him in the rematch.
I wouldn't mind seeing Ward in an exciting fight. Ward could use the publicity and fanfare that comes with fighting Golovkin on HBO. If Ward and Golovkin fought each other next, who would have fought on HBO more times? Maybe instead of giving his opinion on who is ready or who has earned it, he should just tell his team to send team GGG an offer to fight.
you can forget ward GG fight untill GG makes it official hes moving up to 168. hes staying at 160. at first he made it seem like he will fight who ever from 154 to 168 but that was just talk. if he fight mora feb 1st im fine with that its not horrible fight i prolly wont be able to watch so its a solid opponent. but after that i think hes on hbo a guy like martinez should be a serious canidate but i still have a feeling it will be vs murray. which is still a good fight but he needs to get back on track after the serg loss.
You did actually, so that's that. Anyhow, I'm not too disapponted in the fight although I'm sure I won't enjoy it very much. But it's at least relatively curageous to fight Mora when you're trying to be an action star.
We aren't sure if this fight is gonna happen till it gets official announced. Maybe it will be Daniel Geale and not Mora. :think
