Just watched the fight again last night to confirm what I saw the first time.

Gennady looked exhausted and almost completely gased out in the 4th and 5th rounds, and was breathing very heavily between rounds. He was throwing a lot of big shots and missing which may have worn him out. I know he said in his interview he wanted to give the fans more value for money and extend the fight longer but im not 100% convinced.

What do people think of his stamina? I was surprised at how sloppy he looked in the last 3 rounds and I think if the fight had gone deep he might have slowed down significantly, so it might have been a blessing that Willie told the ref to stop it in the 6th. By the 4th round he had almost completely abandoned the jab and had very low workrate.

Its weird as I never thought GGG would gas out like that after 2 rounds, as in his previous fight against Murray he looked equally fresh in round 11 as he did in round 1.

Chasing, cutting, loading up it takes a toll on you he knew Monroe was not a heavy hitter.

He didn't show any signs of gassing out against Murray in 11 rounds so I'd say no.

Watch the Murray fight, jackass. Golovkin averaged 80 punches a round over +10 rounds and didn't even look tired afterward. Heck, look at the Monroe post-fight interview, does he look tired? You're serious?

the deep breaths in the corner is a normal routine , it is not because he is gassed , if it really was gassing there is no way way he would be able to do what he does e.g knock everyone the **** out !!

He was missing a lot of shots, so it could have drained him. Against a better fighter, I'm sure he would be a lot more selective.

I don't think he trained as hard for this fight knowing Willie had no power and that he would probably get him out of there before the distance.

I won't judge stamina on this one performance...... But i was concerned how sloppy he was after rd 2

Did u even read my post moron?

That was my exact point. He looked as fresh as a daisey in the Murray fight after 11 rounds of high workrate, yet after only a couple of rounds his workrate dropped significantly in the Monroe fight. Watch rounds 4 and 5 again and u can see he is almost exclusively loading up on big shots and wasnt boxing him like in the first 2 rounds. I had never seen him that sloppy and gased out prior to that.

:lol::lol: Now apparently GGG was gassed out and lucky Monroe quit because if he continued GGG was on his way out. :patsch

    What? Who said that? dumbass.
Monroe tagged Golovkin with some good shots, it likely had something to do with his stamina.

OP, I'm with you, man. I need to rewatch the fight but on fight night I really thought GGG looked tired in those last two or three rounds. I don't think I've ever seen that from him before so it was a pretty wtf moment.

Also he was just generally sloppy, looking kind of Tyson-esque trying for that one punch knockout (not a good look for him) and getting clobbered with some big shots in the process.

FYI: If you follow my posts here you know I'm a Golovkin fan. No hate here at all...just concern.

Pressure fighters need to take a breather every once in a while, GGG is no different. What stamina concerns?????

I don't believe the OP suggested anything of the sort
