Answer this question, did anybody say GGG is a defensive fighter?

No but no one ever said he was. He is more defensive than others who employ similar styles. He gets tagged, sure, but not that much and even less so cleanly. It's possible to say that's because of the opposition he's faced. But for those who say he is overhyped (which to be fair, even as a GGG fan, he is), surely he should have been "exposed" by now given that his flaws are so glaringly obvious and to many experts on these boards, relatively easy to exploit. The love and hate for him are one in the same to me and it's sad that people can't just dissect something wit getting emotions involved.

I think Manny is a good example to show that you don't necessarily need to be a great defensive boxer to be successful. There are different styles in boxing.

Manny has exceptional speed and power which discourages guys from coming at him recklessly. In addition, Manny has unmatchable work rate and offensive skill set which very few fighters have shown since the days of a prime Evander Holyfield. Sorry no comparison to GGG.

You have a fair accessment of GGG unlike a lot guys on this forum. No one is denying that GGG is a talented fighter and could very go on and do great things in the sport. The problem we have is guys on this forum holding him to some iconic esteem. Don't pretend like you don't hear guys saying how Floyd, or Ward is docking him and he will knockout such and such guy from the past based on his resume of fringe contenders.

You are back to the "someone said something on a forum, so I am going to dog the fighter". I think you are really oversensitive to people saying positive things.

So, since you really dont see to think we should be paying GGG any mind - who should we be, in your view, talking about and watching?

Of course I see it but I don't see how that upsets so many people. I saw plenty of **** mentioned about Broner that made me cringe but I never went out of the way (I don't think) so say all this **** about him. I knew he was more talk than walk and was waiting for his moment of humility, which unfortunately still didn't come. People get far too emotional over fighters they somehow feel a connection with. And nobody is ducking anybody btw. All that bull**** is annoying.

And how does Golovkin get Geale, Murray, Quillin, Sturm, Martinez into the right with him? So, Golovkin will have to fight a 200 lb. fighter to get a big fight..............
