I don't believe that bouts with cancer show up on fighter's win/loss records, but I pick cancer to win in the rematch.
Anyone with a brain can see that GGG is being ducked and avoided left and right, or offered ridiculous contracts, pricing themselves out of a fight with him, etc, but I guess he's little G right? Give me a break. If he's little G, what does that make everyone else?
He's already a little past his prime, not the same guy who fought Macklin, whom I think is better than Lemieux. I'd say he's about 90% of what he was, and he will lose 10% every birthday from here on. ...And by the way, I think Jacobs would be his best opponent by a mile. Not a great fighter, but definitely a deserving world champ, it's a good fight, but Golovkin is SLIGHTLY better. And I don't think K2 wants the fight any more than Jacobs people.
While I do think GGG would rightfully be the favorite, I think it's a good fight and Jacobs is under rated. I also think his chin is underrated. The double shifting, jab feinting overhand right that Pirog KOed him with 1) Is a move that no one had seen in the West since prime Duran and thus nearly impossible to predict or train for. 2) Was basically Pirog practically running with a huge windup and massive forward momentum to basically throw a 90mph fistball right through Jacobs chin. I really don't think anyone south of LHW would have gotten up from that particular punch. It's a good fight and would do big business in NYC.
