Exactly, to many idiots expect a devastating performance in every fight, this does not happen at world level.

Care to elaborate? I can think of some top fighters who have managed to meet or supersede expectations in almost every fight.

Exactly ^ He was taking too many breaks in the mid and later portion of the fight. It sometimes appeared he was taking complete rounds off.

I just don't think DeGale is as good as some claim him to be. DeGale said he would knockout Bute in 6 rounds, but he struggled to a decision instead. Bute is old and semi-shot. He couldn't pull the trigger on a number of occasions last night. He couldn't touch Pascal. He got knocked out by Froch.

Coming into the fight, I didn't think DeGale was going to have an easy time. But comparisons will always be made, to Pascal and to Froch. We can accept that either DeGale under-performed or he's not as good as Froch or Pascal. Which one would you like?

I think fans expect to much from fighters, as soon as a fight doesn't go as they predict they write the guy off, you won't find to many guys like Mayweather & Pac who can put on back to back perfect performances.

Degale did enough to beat a good fighter in Bute which is not a simple task.

Oh Degale did not impress you? He must be devastated  You think it should be easy to beat guys like Dirrell & Bute? Two world class fighters. So that makes you think GGG stops him? Who has GGG ever stopped that is world level? What super middleweights has he stopped?
I think Degale and his team are aware that they will need a different game plan against GGG because he is not the same style fighter as Bute.

    Pretty much :good

GGG is a good fighter and he deserves his time in the sun because of his entertaining approach to the sport. But there is too much unorthodox athleticism and for him vs degale. He'd get badly out boxed in this fight.

p.s. there are those that know what they are seeing when they are watching talent and then there are people who DKSAB....if you think DeGale vs Bute was closer then Froch vs Bute and Bute vs Pascal therefor DEGale=worse then Froch and pascal....YDKSAB...

Or we can accept that performance levels vary and styles make fights. Bute probably did better vs Johnson than Froch did but then Froch destroyed Bute.

But say for aguments sake what you say is true and DeGale did underperform or is not as good as Froch/Pascal, so what? What does that matter when discussing DeGale vs GGG?

Well, DeGale does have a loss to Groves. Froch has 2 knockout victories against Groves. I think it's pretty safe to say that DeGale has not reached a point in his career where he can say he is better than Froch.

GGG would beat DeGale but it won't be easy.
