Per the rules of the WBC, you are actually not allowed to hold any other belt, at all. even in the same weightclass, sooooo..
So, I guess in a way, you are right. It is about the money. The money you choose to, or not to pay in sanctioning fees.

I see you got some sens of humour. :good First, Armstrong was never allowed to hold two titles at the same time in the late 20's as he started his professionnal career in the 30's.

And guess what : Maradona or Pele never won the golden ball, neither Jesse Owen nor Mark Spitz were world champions etc.

Well, because I was doing that by memory sorry for being off, a few years. But since I must, here's a passage from his biography:
"Armstrong was the only boxer to hold world titles in three different weight divisions simultaneously, and all three titles were undisputed championships."

And who were Maradona, Pele. I don't follow panzy sports

Jesse Owens may never have been a World Champion, but he did set 3 world records in a single track meet.

    History remembers Champions, and pioneers.

If Kovalev is willing to go down to 168 to fight GGG, as per the scenario in the OP where GGG is willing to go down to 153, then how would this fight go?

GGG vs Kovalev should be at LHW, there's nobody at Super Middleweight other than Degale who GGG would easily out point.

I say LHW because Kovalev has fought A level fighters unlike GGG who fights basic 1 dimensional fighters.

You're going to see more fighters holding titles in multiple weight classes as there are more than twice as many weight classes nowadays and half of them are junior Divisions. Plus the fact there are 4 champions per weight division, it's easier than it used to be.

DLH started off at 130 and he fought B-Hop at middle.

DLH is 5'10" and packs a punch and a better chin. Not everyone is built the same.

Floyd, easily. too quick fast and chin is like granite. Lil g, has not fought the elite. Floyd, has fought the elite for decades. Big difference.

WTF are you talking about? When SRL beat Donny Lalonde they were fighting for his 168 title and Lalonde's 175 title.

So SRL held two titles at the same time after winning only 1 fight.

GGG would destroy Floyd today as his IV bags currently ran out. If Floyd ordered some new IV bags and became Fluid I'd take Fluid.

De La Hoya was also naturally bigger than Mayweather.

And SRL immediately relinqueshed the LHW title after winning and it was an alphabet belt. Hence the Armstrong and Mayweather being the only 2 fighters to simultaneously hold the division Championship in multiple weightclasses at the same time.Your best arguement would have been Michael Spinks, also being LHW Champ when he beat Larry Holmes for the HW title, but he immediately relinqueshed it upon getting HW Championship. Again, hence the statement Armstrong and Mayweather being the only 2 to simultaneously hold belts in multiple weightclasses.
