I've not seen a source yet but apparently (according to Xelloss) K2 have OKed it at 168 in the UK. Sky Box-Office PPV, don't know how it'll be sold / broadcast in the US.
Trust me HBO have said: GGG v Chavez is a ppv fight Froch v Chavez is a ppv fight Froch v Golovkin is NOT a PPV fight That is not my opinion whether it should or shouldn't be. S. Eddie Hearn talks about it here at 9.50: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a_a0njds1E
I think it's being considered as UK PPV (Sky Box Office)- likely rebroadcast on HBO regular subscription.
You've been told three times "UK PPV, regular HBO" for Golovkin-Froch now. Me yesterday, Chitown earlier today and Koba not long ago. What's the issue?
Sky and HBO or just HBO? I know HBO did, but had not heard about Sky. was thinking pretty much any Froch fight would be PPV on Sky.
Yes exactly. When Hearn was saying it wasnt PPV he was saying HBO said it was not PPV specifically, no mention of Sky. That is when Froch was really angling for that Vegas fight. But Froch only option for Vegas PPV is pretty much Chavez. If he fights in UK I dont think anyone needs to confirm that Sky will carry it as PPV, especially since GGG is actually better known there than he is here in no small part due to his penchant for demolishing Commonwealth fighters. Right now Froch realistic choices are fighting DeGale who is UK, but lost to Groves. Or fighting Golovkin, the scary undefeated top MW. So the fight has a possibility of happening. Just because Chavez is off the table. K2 does want the fight, I forget which interview but Loeffler has confirmed that yes they would goto UK for that fight at 168. Considering Haymon went and tied up Soliman and Cotto is.. well never going to be an option.. really its Froch or tomato can B unless Rubio stepped up.
Yes but they are saying the reason the fight won't happen is because Froch will duck Golovkin. Those terms are fine for Froch but do not suit GGG, so why is everyone thinking Froch for the first time in his career is going to break the habit of a career and duck someone, but GGG is going to take this fight at the drop of a hat, when both will make 4 times as much fighting Chavez on HBO PPV for an easier fight. What part of boxing is a business do you fail to grasp?
I can't give any better info, but I do know that there have been negotiations for Froch - Golovkin in the past, and I can't imagine Froch / Hearn would have belatedly added Golovkins name to the poll unless there was a solid possibility. I can't see Froch inviting the poll unless he knew he could follow through - ****.. honestly this is about the best match-up I could make. One of my dream fights. If we get this and Kovalev vs Hopkins, 2014 will have redeemed itself in my eyes.
:good There seems to be so many people that think Froch will just duck Golovkin. Same kind of people who said Froch would duck Groves in a rematch about 6 months ago.... Maybe the should've followed Froch's career a little better :huh if anyone turns this fight down if it makes sense from a money stand point, I seriously doubt it will be Froch.
Where did I say Froch would duck Golovkin? WTF?!? Chavez Jr? Are you kidding me? He won't fight Golovkin, he won't fight Froch. He's off the table. Welcome to a couple days ago. Hearn said it stalled on Chavez' side, and Chavez Jr already turned down the Golovkin fight with Arum. :huh
Hell did I say Froch would duck Golovkin? My opinion is that Froch would never have put GGGs name on his poll if wasn't willing to fight him - which means ... as of now.. we could have one of the very best fights that could be made in the sport on the way.:happy EDIT - sorry, wrote my post before your reply. Anyways.:good
Oh yeah BTW GGG 13350 JCC 11976 DeGale 7766 Goddamn... looks like we might get Froch vs GGG. EPIC. FKKNG. FIGHT.
Ive been following Frochs career since his Commonwealth days. Im a huge Froch fan, and won't blame him if he chooses not to take this fight. He's got bigger paydays in other directions, but win or lose vs GGG, he'd still get Chavez Jr, and would easily win that fight.:think
