It depends on whether he fights Ward afterwards, he doesn't have to move up and fight Ward straight away, however, if he continually avoids him AFTER moving up then yes, you can say it's a duck.

    I don't think it's a duck either way.

    One is a middleweight.

    One is a super middleweight.

Until that changes, there really isn't any reason for fans to expect or excessively talk about it.

I doesn't matter whether he ran "scared" or not. He ran. He said he would fight the winner of the poll. Khan won. And he backed out or rather ran away like a little girl. No one put a gun to his head and said make a poll. He did that. And also he was the one who put Khan in the poll. Khan CLEARLY wanted that fight desperately. The only one who stopped it was Mayfeather. He ran.

Sounds like someone picked Collazo like a dumbass and was humiliated. Anyone with half a brain knew he was going to body Collazo. Btw, I don't really care for Khan but that pick was beyond obvious. I heard a lot of dumbasses saying Collazo was gonna KO Khan. Like really? Featherfisted Collazo is gonna KO anyone other than bums like Victor Ortiz.

    Who cares about the poll?

Wouldn't you rather see the better fight? Mayweather gave us the better fight in choosing to face Maidana instead of Khan. Period. If he had picked Khan, then he would have been picking the lesser opponent at the time.

They're both **** fights so who care. But imo Khan was the better fight. I said that from the start. Maidana is overrated. Its amazing that Mayweather struggled with him the first fight. He cherrypicks to the extreme and still struggles. Sad :-(

Khan hadn't beaten a ranked fighter in almost THREE YEARS.

He was absolutely not a better opponent. Only what they go on to do in the future could possibly justify your opinion and that still wouldn't change the fact that at the time, it was not debatable.

Khan beat Maidana. Of course it was debatable. Add the fact that Maidana's slow af plodding style plays right into Mayweather's strengths and I think that many would say Khan was the better opponent.

I'm not going to lie. When the fight was first announced, I was happy about it but a lot of people talking about it seemed pretty damn pissed. That doesn't change the fact that he said he'd fight winner and didn't. That's running imo.

    Triangle theory doesn't work, bro.

Kazuto Ioka beat Akira Yaegashi two years ago at 105, but would anyone at this moment say that Ioka would be a better fight for Roman Gonzalez at 112 than Yaegashi? No.

And if you know about the blending of boxing styles, you know Maidana's style is the foil to Mayweather's style (perhaps not when you factor in the fighters' skills and the gap between Floyd and Marcos, but just on the meshing of styles alone, yes... that is why you saw Maidana give Mayweather one of the five toughest fights of his career, and why some people like myself saw that coming).

I would rather a fighter pretend to a fight a lesser fighter and then actually fight the better opponent. I don't care about polls or who he once hinted at fighting. Unlike most ESB'ers, I judge fighters by who they fight, not who they don't fight.

Perhaps I'm missing something but I see Khan giving Mayweather trouble. He got long arms and a good jab and he's fast. The guy brutalizes pure boxers but is vulnerable to punchers. Mayweather doesn't have that kind of KO power and I see it quite possible that Khan outworks Mayweather in spots. Its certainly possible that he could win.
