If you want to see him cut off the ring against guys with really good footwork, watch some of his amateur stuff. (Inb4 but it's not pros!!!)

fighting monroes, geales ,rubios isnt the same as fighting elite fighters like ward

anything that works against monroe, geales, etc wont work against ward

He'd be able to cut the ring off against him, Ward is not some wizard, I do think that Ward would neutralize it in another way, that is he'd clinch Golovkin when he's got "nowhere to go" so to speak, he wouldn't wait around like other fighters on the rope.

That was Sullivan Barrera and we'll get to see if any of that has rubbed off on him because he'll need it when and if he faces Beterbiev.

it's because GG's not an AA fighter doing the shoulder roll (correctly) on the ropes looking flashy :-(

Golovkin is inaccurate when he's pushed back. I've made .gifs of Stevens doing so and Golovkin missing his punches. You have to fight him in the pocket because Golovkin doesn't generate his tremendous power when he's chest-to-chest with his opponent. Watch his fight with Monroe. Guy would hook right over Monroe's jab and knock him down. It was only until Monroe fought him in the pocket where he had any form of success.

Murray tried closing the gap and smothering Golovkin, but thought better of it by the 2nd round

clearly easier said than done :yep

Watch the sixth round of GGG/Monroe. Monroe tried to fight him in the pocket but couldn't because all of a sudden GGG was landing and hurting him.

Hmm could it be because maybe GGG somewhat carried him the last 2 rds?

Murray is terrible on the inside. Watch his fight against Khomistky and tell me Murray is good on the inside. Please, just do so and come back to me on this.

I don't think Golovkin carried Monroe. I just think Golovkin wasn't impressed by his power and could lower his guard.

Monroe fought in the pocket and had a lot more success than what he was doing when he was circling the ring. You can't box with Golovkin, that's established. He cuts off the ring too well.

Golovkin still has issues on the inside. Watch his fight against Rosado too. Yeah, he was sick and stuff, but his weaknesses are still there to be exploited. It'll just take a fighter talented on the inside to accomplish this. The likes of Murray and Geale aren't such.

Yes he does cut off the ring and did so in his fights with Morales II & III, Barrera II, DLH, Hatton(when he had him on the defensive), Concreto, Cotto and many more. Yes his style is to jump in and out but he does cut off the ring to corner opponents when he knows he has them hurt or on the defensive.

I have boxed, which is why I seem like an odd case to losers like you for appreciating things I fully understand when I see.
