In an interview Zurdo said he feels better at 175 than 168 anf that he wants to fight Sergey Kovalev.

Zurdo is an excellent text book fighter and body puncher.

I think he has a good chance at beating him using his excellent timing. He can possibly wreck Kovalev's body and make him fold again.

"I want Kovalev. I have been watching him for a long time. He is a good champion and was a pound-for-pound fighter. That is why I want to fight him."

Interesting matchup. Zurdo is a big LHW and Kovalev has some mileage on him. I really don't know who to pick. Kovalev still arguably the #1 LHW but that division is stacked at the top with Bivol, Gvodzyk, Browne, Beterbiev.

    Kovalev tight decision maybe.

Kovalev first has the Yarde mandatory to take care of, but I'm quite confident he would be happy to face Ramirez after for a good sum of money.

    Kovalev TKO6

First Kovalev vs Yarde. Then Kovalev vs Bivol. And only after that Ramirez could fight with the winner.

I agree.. Lets get some unifications since Top Rank have all the belts even if Yarde wins

Lol it's how boxing is these days, once a guy gets old suddenly everyone wants a piece of him.

Stop being insecure ffs. Ramirez just barely moved up to 175 and he's calling out the most popular titlist there, nothing wrong with that at all, at all.

Kovalev is far better than Gilberto in every aspect. He could outbox him from the outside or bomb him down. I don't see why he'd even try to call a killer out like that. Past prime or not, Kovalev is still a killer. Beterbiev, Bivol, Gvodzyk (maybe). They'd give Kovalev hell. I still think Kovalev goes through everyone else, especially someone coming up from SMW.

I don't even think Gilberto goes through everyone at SMW undefeated: Smith, Benavidez, a focused Uzcat, Plant (who I'm not even fond of), They'd all be stiff for him. Gilberto should look at Browne, Barrera, Smith, Johnson before even glancing at the European guys at the top.

Because that is what fighters are supposed to do. Simple concept.

Yea, after they've cleaned out their divisions I agree. There's no less than 5 guys in his own division that are rough nights for him. 3 guys that I'm certain would give him hell.

Let alone calling out "The guy" and one of the top 3 in the division above. That's putting the cart ahead of the horse.

I'm not a big Zurdo fan, and I too would favor Kovalev over him, but with the kind of resume Zurdo has its a breath of fresh ait to hear him want to fight a guy like Kovalev.

Zurdo sucks. Hopefully his new trainer makes him suck less.

It's truly amazing how easily unimpressive wins over shot corpses can go to a man's head and make them completely deluded.

Now not only does he think he beat Kovalev, he thinks Hart is going to stop Eleider.:sing: Oh my God.:qmeparto:

Agreed. They buy into their own hype. It happens often thought. Most recently Mikey-Spence, he actually thought he had a chance LOL.... Also Golovkin thought he was KO Canelo, as if he was just another can on his list.

But I really don't fault them, its the mentally they need to reach their highest potential.
