I saw your fight vid on here a few weeks back and wanted to ask you about your power. If you've found that you don't have that much power then perhaps you start a fight subconciously thinking that it'll go the distance and you won't be able to stop your opponent.

Next fight tell yourself that you're going to really hurt your opponent early and get her out of there in the first round. Get that killer instinct going. I don't mean go all out so that you couldn't make the 4th round if it goes that long, but hurt your opponent with each punch thrown hard. Then they'll be cautious about swarming on you and getting points because you aren't answering back as much in the first couple of rounds.

Nervousness I presume why people lose the first round sometimes.

I know dick about boxing but as far as psychology goes, the body language given off before a fight starts must have a big effect. Maybe part of the reason your first round is the worst is because your opponent thinks they've spotted a 'weakness', in this case; a lack of confidence. I'm not sure how you act before a fight, but I'd guess that you're not loud, cocky, or arrogant in the build-up. Maybe you could just try strolling slowly around the ring a little more, looking extremely confident. If your opponent has a little bit of fear, they'll start a little more cautiously. This might help you start as well as you finish.

You're the one who was complaining about not getting fights for several months :!: So I would dispute that. Young hippo, for example, has fights in the parking lot every time he spars, and if you don't think those are bouts, you must be pretty stupid.

Well, I was always very confident and never nervous before a fight. It happened anyway. But I guess it's very individual.

That's the same with me. I don't really get nervous at all. It would probably help if I was a little nervous.

You're right. I'm only on my 5th real fight in two months, I really need to get out to the parking lot more often.
