I like Glen. He's one of the best people in a sport plagued with true assholes. Even in this piece he doesn't use profanity or insults. But, one, Dawson didn't rip him off. If there was any rip off (which I don't believe) it was the judges. I don't like the fact that Johnson asks for people to not support Dawson. I feel bad for Johnson because he's been been on the bad side of way too many decisions. Far worse than the Tampa fight. He flat out got robbed against Ottke in Germany. He got a bad call against Woods, Sheika, Gonzalez and others. He deserves better because he's a good guy and a great fighter but honestly I don't think he did quite enough to earn a victory Saturday.
I scored the fight last night. After 9 rounds, Chad was up 7-2 or 6-3. In the end I scored it 7-5 or 8-4. As I said before, Glen won 6 rounds at the most. Chad won 6 rounds at the least. You are all crying because Johnson has been shafted before and I agree, but not this time. :|
i dont now i saw the fight last night, and i think that Glen deserves the victory, he got Chad almost knock down a couple of times , but Chad is the up and coming fighter , undefeated and hes young, you know they gonna give him the win in a close fight
Glen won 6 rounds at the most. You cant win a fight by winning 4,5 or 6 rounds unless you score knockdowns. I feel for Glen as he is a good guy and always comes to fight, but he didn't win on Saturday night.
It wasn't the worse that i have seen, but it is indeed the wrong result, Dawson lost by a round by me, Glenn for once deserved the victory, Chad was so very unconvincing.. I'd rather see Glenn fight Tarver or Hopkins than Dawson, Chad is not the finished article, he was decent but not the so called heir apparrent, I actually thought the fight was great viewing, and a rematch would be a very welcome decision.. Glenn should at least be granted that luxury..
Well, it's just your opinion. Problem is that the majority of people on this board thinks GJ won the fight. And "majority" in this case simply means 50.1% or greater. Now why would the majority of people think this way? Are all these people stupid? And the Showtime poll which asked which fighter you were most impressed with, 80% voted for GJ. Why? Because in this fight, GJ took the fight to Dawson, hurt him a couple of times, landed the cleaner AND harder shots, and just made life miserable for Dawson. I can see giving the fight to Dawson if he regularly landed the cleaner and harder shots but that wasn't even the case.
In the post fight interview, he all but stated that he won't fight GJ again because he felt he "clearly outboxed him".
Yes , it doesn't surprise me in the least that Chad wants no part of a rematch.. Some cats know deep down when they escaped by the skin of thier teeth.....
No doubt he escaped byt he skin of his teeth, man I was 100% sure he was not going to last that, I can't beleive Johnson didn't finish him off. Had he been able to put together 1 clean 5-6 shot combination right then, it would have been over.

King Dan is also a Glen Johnson fan and feels for him for the way he's been treated his whole career. In the end, I am a boxing fan and I want the right decisions given. Chad won the fight in my opinion. Please, go score the fight.
