McCrory is entitled to lay into Haye if he wants, just like he laid into Tony Jeffries a while back. He's paid to have an opinion. It's only a year ago that we were all slating them for the ''Haye vs Harrison is 50-50'' crap, when nobody knew that it was bollocks more than the men that were saying it. I don't want to see David Haye fight again, his last few fights have been mindnumbing and his heart clearly isn't in the sport anymore, and hasn't been since he got a sniff of the money. Plus he's an arrogant, mouthy, annoying ****.
Weather he 'deserves' a fight is neither here nor there. He'll get the fight if it makes money and won't get the fight if the promoter think's he's too much of a risk.
Glenn got too emotional about not being involved but he was spot on about Mormeck not firing back and Haye not really deserving his chance.
I always thought the man who fought his way to the mandatory position deserved the shot. Haye wants to bypass this route again. I thought Haye was pathetic against Wlad and fought like a very nervous scared man particularly given his pre-fight claims. I only heard McCrory saying Haye was an embarrassment to boxing and McGuiggan agreeing with him. I thought in general McGuiggan and McCrory work well together. Nelson again needs to think a bit more before he speaks. McGuiggan's brain works at 100 miles an hour, Nelson's doesn't.
i watched haye fight loads of time - had also seen every klitscho fight too- for me haye did incredible to even last - let alone almost taking him in the 11th - so yes he deserves a shot big time only boxer for a long time to npt only last vladimir but almost took him out .. the ppl say he doesnt deserve are clueless about boxing
Haye actually did ok against Wlad, imo. Maybe better than i expected. He showed Wlad up for me to a certain extent. A guy his size standing in front of Wlad with his hands down and Wlad couldn't even drop him. Vitali vs Haye is the best and most interesting fight that can be made in the division.
He did about as well against Wlad as Chisora did against Vitali IMO. Obviously Wlad is superior to Vitali. The one aspect of Wlad's game that gets underrated is his footwork..... he's quite light on his feet and very precise as to where he puts himself in the ring, which is in contrast to other big HW's like Lewis, Bowe and Foreman who were all a bit flat footed, very flat footed at times.
Nonsense. Ignore your hate for Haye and actually look at what happened in the ring. There are worse villains than David in this sport.
I've rarely read such biased bollox. We all listened to Haye telling us for two years that he was going to behead Wlad and then he gets in the ring and throws the odd potshots. Yes, that is what happened in the ring. It's too early to try and rewrite history. People's memories are just not that short.
Chisora/Vitali is kind of irrelevent in this. Chisora is also given credit because he did better than people expected, which is my arguement for Haye. Anyway, I just don't get the people who say Haye should've fought a different fight. People just had to look at his style and history. I swear you'd think some people and especially the HBO commentators had never seen him fight the way they were going on. It seemed to me like they were expecting a ressurrection of Joe Frazier. Haye's plans was always to try and walk Wlad into something big. And that was always ganna be a long shot. People who expected him to press the fight just don't know any better.
Haye is the best fight out there for either Klitschko. True Wlad demolished Mormeck last night but look how he did it - Jab and Bearhug. Booth had clearly devised a plan to negate that in the Haye fight which was going to ground when Wlad tried putting his weight on. Haye was elusive and trying to counter with big shots after Wlad threw his, not a **** performance at all. His gameplan depended on speed and quickness which was hindered by having a broken toe whether people like it or not. A healthy Haye is a handful for any man. Mcrory was ridiculously over the top last night, yes he is entitled to an opinion but he was unashamedly bashing a fighter who would have starched him. Yes being a "sports man" is a nice idea but give me money Mayweather chinning Ortiz over a Shane Mosley glove touching love fest with Pac. Haye talks the talk and is more than capable of walking the walk.
