backed Jazza from the start in this but I’m now edging towards Walsh to nick it on points. Should be a good fight!

That is the plan - one day Klopp will go and Stevie G will be a huge favourite should he topple Celtic this season.

When he took the job, the Rangers team were nowhere near Celtic. Two seasons later and it looks like there is a new era starting in Scotland.

He has never won a title so fingers crossed he finally gets over the line.

A matter of when rather than if in my humble opinion. You don't think it's too soon for him?

@CutThroatFade Sorry for derailing the thread pal, shouldn't have mentioned the footy.

I don't mind it pal, I always bring up football on here.

Re: Gerrard, it's not just Stevie, it's Michael Beale (the tactical brains) as well and the pair of them would do good wherever they go. They have us playing the best football we've played since the Advocaat days in the late 90s. They have us playing the exact same system as Liverpool with the marauding full backs and interchanging front three. And most importantly Gerrard has been so successful in Europe. A couple of titles and campaigns in the CL with Rangers and I think Gerrard and Beale would be ready for Liverpool. If Gerrard did go I wouldn't be adverse to having Beale as his successor as Rangers manager but I have a feeling he will go with Gerrard.

Re the boxing, going for an Egbunike/Dickens double. The Bolotniks fight looks good on paper but I've not seen enough of the German to make a prediction there.

As a red who grew up with Gerrard as my absolute idol i’d love him to be manager but I don’t want him to. It has the potential to be tarnished in the in the end. The club also wouldn’t think twice about doing the dirty on him either. Look how the yanks treated Dalglish. They wouldn’t care about what their fans sorry ‘customers’ thought.

Unfortunately, he has done a great job so far with Rangers. As a player how can you not be in awe and want to play for him.

The Dickens fight has no place on a midweek night. It should be great, I’ll be watching that and have PSG winning on my phone.

I know Scottish Football cannot be compared to the top leagues in Europe but it is also the results and performances in Europe which show he has what it takes to manage Liverpool.

Rangers are a huge club, with huge fan expectation, with huge pressure to topple Celtic within 3 years and the perfect grounding prior to taking the Liverpool hot seat.

All done on a playing squad budget much less than Celtic and the annual salary for Paul Pogba - the lad has done well.

This is what happened at Rangers with McCoist who failed miserably and was getting a huge salary at the club for managing in the lower leagues. It ended sour with the fans calling for his head and a fair bit of vitriol being spouted.

But trust me Gerrard is built differently. Like he was born for management. The thing is he could actually buy Rangers with his net worth. The guy absolutely doesn't need to be managing here with all the stress and hatred it carries but is doing so willingly. So I have no doubt that he would excel as Liverpool manager and all the players would be in awe of him. No doubt they'd run themselves into the floor for him.

And as @Jurgen said his European results have been unreal especially this season. Two score draws against Benfica who are a Champions League team, win over Galatasaray, beaten Standard Liege comfortably. Imagine what he'd do with Liverpool's budget.
