Golota won the first fight. Close but clear. I don't understand those saying the decision was good one. If you don't agree with the referee's decision and you think that 2nd knockdown and point deduction are BS - then you have to admit giving all close rounds to Ruiz is also more than suspect. And if you think referee was doing his job well, there is no way Ruiz could make up for those 4 points (one round 10:7, plus point deduction) in this style. Personally I agree 2nd KD was BS, but it served Ruiz right. And today I am afraid Ruiz would have won easily. Ruiz still looks OK judging by his fight against McCline, but Golota is definitely past prime.
I said it could be argued. By that meaning it was pretty close fight. It doesnt mean I think he won the fight. Against Valuev I had him winning tought.
I had the first fight a draw. Golata was WAY ahead and then stopped fighting. I can see him losing or winning by a point, and he has no one to blame but himself. This "Golata dominated" stuff is total crap from obvious nuthuggers. Four rounds does not make a fight people.
The knockdowns and deduction were in the first half of the fight. Golata blew hit all his own, quit bitching.
Even if Golota only won five rounds (which is being overly generous to Ruiz), he would have won the fight on points. That two judges gave Ruiz NINE ****ING ROUNDS is borderline criminal. :smoke
Exactly. It was one of the more outrageous decisions in the last decade. That's what connections to Don King will do for ya!:yep
