"Golovkin has to move up" -wrong. Lemme cut you off there. He actually doesn't, ever.

GGG seems to be a very good fighter. He makes MW without any problems and while it can be frustrating that the business side of boxing has ruined potential fights you cannot say he ducked anybody. Fights fall apart it happens that also does not mean the other fighter ducked him either. Sh*t happens.

It does frustrate me that he can possibly be a 2 weight lineal champion with a win over the best JMW showing he pretty much could of owned 3 divisions with maybe some catch weight fights with good LHWs thrown in but it won't be the first time I am disappointed at a boxer not fulfilling what I see as their full potential.

His career is not over yet and I hope it does not end with too many question marks surrounding how good of a fighter he really was.

He's wasted his career to this point. Might as well keep doing so. Now if only his imbecile fans would quit pretending he fights for anything other than money.

Seems this thread was overrun by the demographic. Now the demographic is trying to call people who call out their racist hate the demographic. Doesn't work that way. You don't turn it around when you were publicly shamed like Dougie did to you pieces of ish.

No, Dougie outlined it well. They're the demographic, and you don't come back from such a public shaming. Need to be shamed by it constantly.

But the way you say it is ignorant. You refer to somebody as a "demographic" instead of referring to the group in general.

Sure. He will do fine by staying put. He will be appreciated by the hardcores. But, most others won't be able to name 1 great fighter he shared the ring with. Sometimes you DO have to move up (or down) to find the right challenges to enhance your legacy.

What I like about Maravilla's reign at MW better, though short lived due to age and injuries, is that he faced fighters people thought he could actually lose to. It's not that they had such big names. But, he was outsized against nearly everyone at MW...and he still was thumping guys or outboxing them. I just don't see that with GGG (fights against real threats)...mostly due to who is at MW. Jacobs is good...but, we saw him KOd before and put on the canvas by Sergio Mora. BJS is good, and while he is above Andy Lee's level, he is nothing special. The division is noticeably lacking in exceptional talent.

Pimp didn't say that, though. He just said that KT was a HOF caliber fighter who fell short of being ATG, which is an entirely valid opinion to hold, given the quality of fighters he faced. He has a number of very good fighters on his resume, but Zab is probably the only one who was at or near elite level when he faced Tszyu.

If GGG's career trajectory follows along its current path, he probably ends up with similar status. I'd say he probably ends up being regarded in the same way as Ricardo Lopez- a really great fighter without a truly defining fight that might propel him from HOF status to the rank of ATG.

But, even then, he would need to face someone similar to Rosendo Alvarez in terms of ability- and he's yet to do that, thus far.

Jacobs has a mixture of power, size and technique that could test GGG, though. Saunders has skill and speed that GGG has yet to face. At the very least, they can give Golovkin different looks than the people he's faced and have attributes that could, in theory, pose challenges that he's not faced in a while (if ever).
