Golovkin is 33, was he mismanged? why was he unheard of 7 yrs ago?

    It is worth noting, however, that Oner is hardly (as is apparent from the story) a paragon of virtue himself. It also seems he had some kind of beef with Sturm himself (and maybe Universum also) - possibly disgruntled at being ditched by the former champion (this story broke shortly after Sturms loss to Geale). In this light - while I choose to believe him - his stories about Golovkin handling Sturm in sparring etc. could be viewed with cynicism.

    I believe there are no German boxers . They are imports that have taken German names .

    World of difference between Lacy and GGG. Lacy always looked terrible with his arching punches. GGG is so smooth on the front foot with his perfect combinations, beautiful positioning and mastery of range/timing.

    lacy was nothing like 3G.


    lacy gets stopped by 40somethings. cant see that happening to 3G, in his weight class of course.

    Universum also had Sturm who was the MW champion, and they were holding Golovkin back protecting Sturm.

    Golovkin is the same as Calzaghe was before the Kessler fight. No one other than Brits cared who he was because he only fought a long string of 2nd tier Euro bums.

    Like many guys from the former soviet states, hes could have gone pro earlier, but even then he could have probably been moved quicker.

    Also, maybe if he had relocated to the US earlier, he would have gotten better exposure.
    His first fight in the states wasnt until Proska and he was 30 by then
