It really isn't. Kovalev lost to one of the the best in the sport while winning rounds up until the 11th. David Price doesn't win a minute let alone a round against any top 10 heavy. A LHW David Price wouldn't have even beaten Antony Yarde.
at LHW? I think Kovalev still takes it. keep in mind, GGG is 1 year older than Kkovalev, how crazy is that
WTF?! G already sparked a prime Kov out cold in the gym with pillows and headgear on. Granted they're both way past their primes now. However, GGG still has a granite chin and big power and he'd blast this version of Kov who is but a mere shell of the fearsome beast he was back in his prime into the shadow realm as soon as he detonated on his chin.
Both are past it but only one has the chin left, its a ko for GGG, or more TKO as he I can see him being beat down earlier, lasting as long but not as dramatic a finish as Canelo got
Wasn't it just GGG staying at his optimum weight taking on any challenger that had the balls to fight him ? I'm not even gonna mention Canelo its irrelevant, you make out its like GGG wasted his whole career waiting, when he was just simply defending his titles in another weight class and was very successful at it
Kovalev wouldn't have to worry about the counter. He would see Golovkin's shots better. Beyond that the jab, size, power you have to go with Kovalev.
It all depends how Golovkin handles Kovalev’ power early. Golovkin lacks the speed to counter Kovalev and keep him from throwing power shots comfortably like Alvarez did. If Golovkin is able to handle Kovalev’ power early, then he could end this late in the fight. I still don’t see that as a possibility since Golovkin isn’t moving up in weight and we don’t know how the weight will affect his attributes either, especially at 38 years of age. So I’m picking Kovalev to win this by KO.
So the question was GGG vs Kovalev I stated we wouldn’t never know because his record has shown he wouldn’t never take the risk.. just as you said he was satisfied waiting on Canelo or Cotto and mandatory defenses vs mediocre competition.
Oh no, not this again... lol https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/what-does-the-term-floored-mean-to-you.247278/
After what I seen the other night, at this point I'd bet my whole paycheck on Rocky Fielding to go out there and leave Kovalev in a pile of human flesh and debris
