If Ward's camp wanted a 50-50 split, then the purse would likely have been lower for 3G. Maybe they weren't as confident w/ Ward as they were with froch or chavez.

I tire of telling posters this exact same thing. I thought this site had knowledgeable posters. But some of the questions posters asks forces me to rethink that notion.

It's not exactly the first time I've posted it either. Folks around here have the attention spans of gnats.

According to his own words, he was having trouble w/ 168. So all he did was outgrow a division and fight the champ on his third bout at 175. The number of fighters who have done this is staggering.

I swear, It's like Ward walked on water simply by moving up.

I'm big fan of GGG, but yeah there's a size difference there, nearly 2 natural weight divisions I think, and that would play apart massively. Both the same weight and I cant see how GGG loses though

I think he beats him too, not because of size though. It’s a bad style match up, Ward is excellent at taking away a persons power and GGG is practically all power. It would be a great match up though and tbh I wanted to see two p4p guys go up against each other.

At the time GGG was active, dangerous and avoided, Ward was coming out of retirement so it would have been the best time for GGG to catch him. If he ever could of beat Ward that would have been his best shot.

At the time Ward hadnt moved up to LHW, this fight was talked about before the Kovalev deal was struck. Not being able to get GGG, HBO offered Kovalev instead and the rest is history.

Unfortunately, they are both past their best.

Imagine if Golovkin dried himself out to have his first 3 fights at 154. The credit he would get would be, by the standards of some of the members of this forum, IMMENSE. We could preface every discussion on Golovkin with "and remember, he's only a blown up JMW."

He didn’t walk on water but your acting like he simply moved up to fight a bum, he moved up to fight the most dangerous man in the division. The reason I said that was because some fans of GGG said Andre was scared and I was addressing that how could he be scared of GGG when he fought equally dangerous heavier man.

Yeah and it’s a shame we never got to see it but Ward already carved up his legacy and GGG has too and if he beats the dangerous guys at MW he has a shot of being a top 5 ATG MW in my books.

I know, I have GGG as an average size middle and Ward a very big super middle hence the move up to 175

I never saw Ward as a big SMW personally which is why I was surprised to see him go up in weight although I was happy he did coz LHW had better names.
