Wasn't impressed with Gamboa at the weekend looked on cruise control or something. Still think a fit and focused Gamboa blows any featherweight out of the water that includes john. Caballero and Juanma still have a lot to prove.
It better happen sooner rather than later. Hopefully by the end of the year. Didn't watch the fight but he's allowed an off night - can't expect him to put in electrifying performances every time. I'm sure getting the rounds in will have done him some good.

I respect everyone's opinion and a growing trend of people are talking about Quintana out-experiencing the kid. I am scratching my head and wondering if this is April Fool's or are they serious??? I remember Berto flattened Rodriguez with an uppercut going backwards and even Rodriguez gave him some props for a shot he's never seen before. Now that Berto has a belt and is out of witness protection with that Collazo fight as valuable experience, watch out as he will smoke and probabily get a violent ko of Carlos rather like Cotto. I understand Berto had big problems with Collazo who's also a southpaw who threw over hand timing right hands from Berto's blind side. But as someone already mentioned Collazo is a different calibre southpaw who resets and turns, Quintana will look to potshot and counter but Berto will see them from a mile away and neutralize him with speed and effective aggression. Quintana can be overwhelmed and will struggle to keep Berto of especially on the inside. Good to see Berto back from that family tragedy in Haiti and this is nothing more then a feel your way back in type of fight.
I think Carlos has to force himself into believing if he can weather the storm for the first 5 rounds, then he might have a shot as Berto fades. The deck is stacked against him with the judges for even a points win, but i think he will put up a better perfomance than against Cotto. Berto probabily wants to get some rounds in and coast, so Berto by UD. Strange fighter is Quintana, never really know which Carlos is gonna turn up but as i said he does have a tendency to fold against the Berto type fighters. Strangely i think that 6'2" frame of Williams helped him somewhat in that first fight, if you notice Quintana throws punches that landed which he didn't even visually follow through. Berto will sit on his punches and be dedicated to the pocket. Don't see him as anything more then sacrificial lamb.
Yordan, despite us not knowing much about him, is decent opponent to gauge how much Caba will have at Feather. I personally think Quintana might be able to beat Berto, who I'm not convinced about.
Speaking of Quintana's fight with Williams, how does a guy with such freak attributes, a reach longer then Ali's, throws 100 punches a round...get bamboozled by a gatekeeper? I've been high on Paul Williams, but he along with J Taylor are the two dumbest fighters in the game. Also how in the world did he make weight at 147 and 30 odd hours later, step into the ring at 167? Having a 6'2" frame or not, that kind of rehydration freaks me out. I remember Hearns doing something similar, and Margarito can get up to 161, but damn super middle weight status? Unbelievable. pitty he gives all his strengths away.
Maybe i'm being too harsh on Paul, even i'm too smart to actually think that fighting people like Verno was a "choice" for an easy outing but more a product of no one, from Mosley to Margarito to Clottey, wanting to step into the ring with this Hearns' like freak. We saw this before with Margarito being ducked by Mayweather, DLH & Cotto (to an extent) several years back. It's a shame because while 50% of the blame lies with Paul Williams for shunning Margarito for a immediete rematch, the other 50% is scared shitless promoters pacifying their crop of diapered babies at 47, 54 etc! Props to Martinez for stepping up.
