Round 8 Latimore swinging a bit wildly now, and Powell just dancing out of harm's way, hugging the ropes and keeping his low right shoulder turned to Latimore. Latimore therefore unable to land flush while Powell's on the move. When Powell hits the brakes, Latimore steps forward with left hands and lands. Latimore walks him down into a corner and Powell goes back to hard whipping body punches. Latimore trying to rough Powell up now, and getting his arm pinned. Powell keeping his hands moving now. Powell up 2.
In a very, very bootleg kind of way, yeah, that's not a bad comparison of dynamics. Hopefully Shane doesn't just wade in straight up like Deandre's goofy ass is doing. The man does have a jab in his toolkit that he can dust off when needed.
Who cares if lattimore is being agressive. He isnt landing ****. Powell is controlling the whole fight and landing clean shots.
Round 9 Latimore getting shelled on the outside as Powell punches and shuffles. Latimore keeping his hands up as he walks in, then telegraphing his intent to pummel Powell and getting hit with quick shots the second they come down. Powell looking sharper as it goes on. 87-84 Sechew Powell
Round 10 Latimore is being drawn nosefirst to left hands like a moth to flame. Latimore risking everything just to get near Powell, and then not getting off in time before Powell's either clinched or slowed him with enough punches to turn him and wriggle free. Powell gets Latimore to break his guard with a feinted jab to the top of the head, then drives a left hand right into Latimore's grill. Very hard shot, maybe the hardest Powell's capable of throwing. Latimore has a good chin. Powell is approaching 10-8 dominance, not quite there yet. Either way, he's up 97-93
Round 11 Powell still able to wait for the inevitable moments of parting between Latimore's parallel shields to send an exploratory jab to scout out a soft spot for a hard left. This time Latimore times the combination and rocks Powell with his own overhand left. Latimore hunting the KO that he needs at this point, but not doing so stupidly. He's still coming forward with his hands high, and initiating exchanges - the difference is he's now punching with Powell and fighting all the way through the exchanges. Another left shakes Powell. Powell still landing his punches but getting rattled for the first time in several rounds. 106-103 Powell
Round 12 Powell toes the line in the center of the ring and begins firing his jab high and low. Latimore manages to get him moving backwards but isn't throwing much yet - maybe saving for a big flurry. Powell is cautious, keeping his distance, keeping a jab out, but that right hand is low when he retracts it. Latimore lunges in with an uppercut from too far out and converts it into a combination but Powell is already on the move. Latimore catches him on the ropes and shoeshines but nothing heavy. Powell pins Latimore's hands in his pits, and Latimore tries to get something off but doesn't have it in him. Powell 116-112
I think Latimore gets the decision. He was the most aggressive fighters and you know how judges like that
