Ive not actually seen that fight. I heard some of the scoring wasnt great. My prediction was more a hope than a prediction with my bias ruling my head. I just cant see rees winning any other way than a close decision. Whether heel get the nod or not is a different story. Judging in USA is absolutely tripe at times. If i had to make a solid prediction without any bias id say...... Close fight for first 5 or 6 rounds. Rees getting stuck in and roughing him up. But broner landing the better shots and staying a couple of rounds up on the cards. Until he finds a good shot and stops rees in the 5th or 6th after a good fairly close scrap. Rees will be able to say he gave it his all and put up a good fight. Similar to Barker and macklin and martinez. What ever happens theres no shame in losing becasue rees has stepped up to the plate. Loads of respect for that. But im not thinking about broner winning. Rees all the way baby!!!!!!
Broner has not beaten anyone of real note, he will only really get tested at 140/147. I would not be shocked if Rees can pull it off, even if he did would the judges give him the nod? I dont think so. Gd luck to Gavin..
I'm up for this. Good luck Gavin boyo.Do yourself proud mate because you're a good, honest pro and a credit to the British game.
Ringside was interesting last night. Enzo C saying Rees should stick to what he did when he trained him in terms of high energy hustling in Broner's face (or chest!). He clearly didn't like the fact that Lockett is now trying to get him to back off more and try to get Broner feeling for punches in order to get him overbalancing. Think I like Lockett's approach as long as Rees maintains his head movement. And in fairness it is Lockett who did the impossible and got him fit enough to be fighting at the weight he should've been down at years ago. Pob hwyl Gav
You say Broner won't be tested until he moves up in weight, yet you wouldn't be surprised if Rees wins? Strange logic.
Good luck to him. I don't think this is the complete mission impossible some people are making out. Rees has a good record and is a solid hard little fighter. I don't think Broner is as good as Broner thinks he is. Im going to have a few quid on Rees. Am looking forward to watching the fight.
Good luck Gavin. It's your time. This is your big chance, go out and give it your all. Just remember, if you beat this guy, your there! :good
It feels good to finally see some international boxing and also including a boxer from our shores. If Gavin can somehow avoid the hostility and broner's antics, then i will give the fella a good chance to take bnoner on but will still be short of defeating the problem. I hope it's not one sided for gavin's sake but also expect broner to prove he is the number 1 in the division.
