My guess is that if hatton isn't shot he does win, but he will get tested with some smart counters...it needs to stay at HBO andnot pay per view level...as for the guys giving Marquez slack about taking a easy fight...well that's a bit much. Hatton is a much less easier fight for Marquez then Marquez was for Maywearther.

You're crazy! Just saying because you asked for it. ;)
I'm not sure. When he was active, Hatton wasn't a very serious boxer. After many years of bad habits, he started to fade. You cannot cheat like that in professionnel boxing. I don't want to imagine in what shape he must be after retirement, even if it's a short one.

What's the source? The last source said Campbell, and that Hatton was looking at Khan.

It could have been a negotiating ploy, but Schaefer is the boss of both fighters, so that seems unlikely.

Actually, It may be the other way around. Hatton dominated Paulie, most people forget.

Golden boy schafer has said that marquez is definitly in for hbo may 1 st, said its "very likely" to be hatton, but also hinted that if not hatton it may be a double header, with marquez fighting someone, and hatton in with someone else. I would think that golden boy would not want to chance a Roy Jones Danny Green, with one of the guys (more likely ricky, given his lifestyle) being shot. Golden boy won't want to chance that, so unless ricky dicks around into mid january, I suspect it will be marquez hatton given the facts as they stand now.

:patsch kinda sounds like ur calling Marquez a cherrypicker...the man gave enough to the sport, he earned the right to cash out on big money fights now

I think it's 50-50, Hatton is what over 200lbs now? Marquez only lost to Mayweather, that means nothing to me. Good fight, it'll be can Hatton maul Marquez or Marquez boxing around Ricky. im surprised theyre not gonna share a card to build up to it.

Let's hope so! This is the best matchup stylistically and biggest payday for Marquez.

The Malig that Hatton beat was a shell of himself, due to McGirt's terrible coaching. As soon as he ditched McGirt, he reverted to his impressive old style. If that fight happened again, smart money would be on Paulie.

    Hatton won't make 140 by May 1st.

It's Christmas any day, so that's another 10lbs on the waistline...... then he always has a family holiday straight afterwards - another 10lbs.

He would have to drop 60lbs in 12/14 weeks - Riddick would be proud!

I can't really see Hatton ending it. JMM lasted 12 with Mayweather and Pacquiao twice. Best case scenario for Hatton would be a decision which is unlikely.

JMM by UD for me. Would like to see this fight as well. Has potential to be a war. :smoke

So that puts all the talk of Khan vs Hatton as a non-starter then. Ricky may have said its his last bout, but I reckon if he beats JMM, & with a big payday staring him in the face, he may try for the Khan fight, so long as both fighters promote it!

Whatever happens, I am concerned for Hatton because atm he looks to be as out of condition as he's ever been, even more so than when he began training for Tszyu, when he was some 42lbs over 140lbs. He's older now aswell, so it wil be harder to shift the weight & while I have faith in him being able to make the weight, you have got to wonder what it could do to his punch resistance?
