It's my personal opinion that GP is overrated. He doesn't have the best highlights on the net, his compositions are effectively music videos...short films. Every bit as relevant, but let's say we have a thread made by an anonymous. He names his thread, "How good was Aturo Gatti?". You don't post GP's tribute because it's made up mostly of Gatti taking flush shots to the face. Instead, you have me make a thread entitled, "In memory of Aturo Gatti". GP's video would be appropriate, and some of us would maybe shed a tear. Overrated is the wrong word, it's misinterpreted...misunderstood.
Absolutely. I feel bad reading back on my initial post, it seems to be discrediting GP. He's brilliant... You can't compare HBO's efforts to GP's though...because GP is actually using HBO's edited material. HBO pull that **** out manually, fight by fight, scene by scene, whereas GP just takes the best bits. It's unfair to make the comparison.
Actually we talked about it. And I promise this will be the last time I respond. I can't educate you all night.
:rofl This "pathetic 32 year old" has over two dozen awards for BEST EDITING from countless film festivals and the American Film Institute, ****** Pete.
thats a good highlight right there. ecspically showing when he struggles but still pulls out the win.
I'm a MAB fan and this is by far one of my favorite highlights... ****in thing is on my MySpace page... I didn't know you made this. Huge Props Addie! :goodthumbsup:good
I know. Sad thing is its coming from decent posters, I just cant understand it, some of these guys need a day off, he makes good videos, how can it be overrated or underrated? Jesus Christ.
Steady on chief, my input has been balanced. The point I was making, albeit after a **** up, was that GP doesn't make videos to highlight a fighters strengths, he does it to be cinematic...and on that level, he's probably the best. The most ******ed thing actually said on the matter was suggesting GP is better than HBO...when he's using HBO's footage. I love GP's work.
Great vid that. I saw this the other day, probably my favourite Barrera highlight on the net. Would be awsome if someone could make a Morales vid of that quality
He seemed to have done ok in introducing the qualities of Naseem in the following vid: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnOwaNY_cds[/ame] To me this, this vid isn't to dissimilar to the vids you seem to prefer. It's full of action, nice soundtrack to complement the clips which do well to show Naseem's freakish power, cocky attitude, and unorthadox style of fighting. There are a countless number of boxing videos out there, but none stand out like GP's. I've even spoken to him over on youtube before, and was surprised to learn he's recieved no editing training what so ever. He just thought he'd have a shot at editing footage, and found he enjoyed it.
