You don't think Wlad is any good? I'd certainly consider him great. As far as head to head rankings go, he has to be in the top 15, surely? And his chin is not that bad. Better than one like Joe Louis', I reckon. Prime Louis would have been out like he was aaginst Marciano, if he had taken a punch like Sam Peter's left hook at the end of the 3rd.
such bull****, he went 50 fights and touched the canvas once, off balance. in his prime he was never hurt in a fight. all the hate on roy is like saying ali was garbage for losing to neon leon.
Yeah, I would agree with this. Jones chin is kind of hard to assess - but it seems to me most likely that the KOs late in his career were a product of age, weight jumping and loss of reflexes. As far as I am aware, there is no reason to believe that in his prime he was chinny.

First of all, what do you know about the other fighters in my top 20? Second, Jones fans won't shut the **** up about how incredible his in an athletic sense (they're correct in this) but also want to say that "he went 50 fights etc. etc." when his chin is under consideration. I've never seen Jones fail to roll or shirk a punch apart from twice when he got knocked the **** out. Based upon that i'd say that his chin is suspect but was protected near full time by his athleticism. When this betrayed him because of age? Guess what? He got knocked out. By a medium punching swarmer, too.
To be a really great fighter, I'd say requires a pretty good chin. Thomas Hearns had a dodgy chin. Floyd Patterson certainly had a weak one. I don't think either of them would be among the top 30 fighters of all-time. Roy Jones Jr. - I'm not sure what to say there. He was knocked down once I think, in his prime, and not shook much as I remember it. He didn't take many shots in his prime. There's no much reason for me to say he had a weak chin though.
