Great fighters who dint fit into any style bracket e.g boxer, slugger, swarmer

Shane Mosley? He wasnt a boxer, desptie moving fast like one, rarely used the jab besides a measuring stick (although when he did use it to actually score it seemed to do well), packed a good punch, but definetley couldn't be considered a puncher, could string 5 punches together as good as anyone but fought in spurts to much to be a swarmer maybe? But again, Its not like he was always on the front foot.. An underrated counterpuncher as well..

oscar de la hoya has boxed various ways. he though is a master of boxing and countering behind his left hand

 

tyson was a first class puncher. so he should be classed as a great puncher at least. I consider prime him to be a very powerful attacking fighter

 

i agree. he never showed a true mastery of punching or boxing

I've always found it difficult to describe Emile Griffith's style. Mainly due to the many facets it possessed. The likes of 'Craftsman', 'technician' don't seem to tell the whole story.
