    And that one always reminds me of the duels Griffith had with Joey Archer. Joey is somebody one can follow around for other examples.

    At a crucial moment in their rematch, Griff relocated his upright left hand down to his waist, Hearns style, and Joey was instantly and dramatically surprised and baffled by it. Emile pulled tricks like this rarely enough that they were not expected or planned for by his opponents. LaMotta was the same way with his southpaw stance. Everybody expected Hagler to do it, but when Jake did it for several seconds in the final round of the rematch with Bob Murphy, he quickly unloaded four well executed left crosses which sealed up the round and win.
