There are many great fighters who constantly get underappreciated/overlooked. Who are some that stand out? Its a matter of personal opinion so no wrong answers.
Here are a few of mine.

Hilario Zapata might just be the most complete and versatile defensive boxer in the history of the sport and he's never mentioned anywhere!

They even named his gym not after him but after a damn politician!

Some really good shouts here, especially Chucho and Lionel Rose.

I’d say Kid Gavilan doesn’t get the flowers he deserves these days.

I’d also throw in Danny Lopez, Old Bones Joe Brown and Sammy Angott.

That usually means boring. The spoilers with low power and much skill esp defensive people don’t want to see them and promoters want them to lose. Someone like Jimmy Young who lost a controversial split decision to Norton which led to him being recognized as wbc champ. Then the great Larry Holmes reign started when he beat Norton in a fight that easily could have been scored a draw. So think of it if Young got the nod vs Norton he might have edged Holmes and been champ. But who wanted to see Young advance he was a boring cutesy without power who made everyone look bad. They wanted the handsome powerful Norton or the young prodigy Holmes as their product to sell.

Not sure if under appreciated or just kinda forgotten but Jeff Fenech and Khaosai Galaxy are rarely mentioned these days
