I read that Tunney and Walker both ended up as alcoholics,as did Lynch.Scott Harrison appears to have a problem also.Jean Pierre Koopmans is reputed to have drunk Champagne before and between rounds of his "challenge"to Ali.

Thought of another, Bob Fitzsimmoms was a serious drinker.

Two verry different stories.

Walker had a major drink problem during his boxing career. He trained for some of his heavyweight fights on whiskey and ocasionaly turned up drunk to fights.

After he retired he kicked the drink and never looked back. He just said one day "this will be my last drink", and it was.

Tunneys daughter suffered from mental illness and murdered her husband. She was institutionalised and Tunney took to the bottle hard, ultimately drinking himself to death.
