Dangerous Don Lee and Rodolfo Martinez both turned southpaw after getting their arrses kicked early in their fights with Tony Sibson and Venice Borkorsor respectively. Both won when the opponent had trouble solving that style. Also, Vito Antuofermo in his title-winning bout with Hugo Corro. Slightly behind after 10, Vito turned mugger the remaining 5 rounds and battered Corro to win a close decision.

A better Mayweather example would be breaking his hand and wining the fight southpaw against Hernandez.
