Ali based on resume and skill set but H2H Mike Tyson would hand them all their a$$es All arguments and all roads lead to Tyson And Ali....(and sometimes Joe Louis)
:goodThat is one of the most intelligent, unbiased and logical posts that I've ever read on the General.Well ****ing said,BoxingFanNo1.
Ali has been in with too many tough guys and most importantly beaten these guys..he was Undefeated in his prime and wins after his sentencing speaks for its self..
Marciano, Undefeated and tough as all hell. Powerful, as well. Lewis...........huge, beat every man every placed in front of him (two by way of rematch), and had amazing skills, power, and reach......... Ali....extremely skilled and fast for a heavyweight..... his skill., movement, and speed was second to none. But his lack of KO power puts him below the brutal punchers above. Holyfield. then Tyson. Then Wlad and Vitali I would probably put them in that order, too. I gotta laugh at the guy above who has Audley number five. Maybe number one hundred, nintey five, but not number five.
Ali w\ granite chin, determination, will power, speed, footwork, combination punching unmatched... also P4P one of the greatest resumes of all time.
"A Motivated Prime Tyson" is one of the worst cliche's ever. When did this mythical Tyson exist? And how could it have disappeared by age 23 or so? The "KO King" who went the distance with Bonecrusher Smith and Tony Tucker? Or beat old Holmes and semi-retired Spinks? I know that's a negative spin, but Tyson had an extremely short "prime" according to what people say was his prime. And when you look at the guys he looked awesome demolishing (Biggs, old Holmes, Tubbs etc) - there are plenty of guys in history that could have done the same.
The Brown Bomber. Tremendous power, underrated hand speed, great instincts in the ring. Louis had some of the best footwork for a heavyweight, he was also in position to punch, and was incredible at cutting off the ring. He was a textbook fighter, picture perfect form and fundamentals. Louis could lead, he could counter, he could break a man down, or finish the night with one shot. Joe Louis beat 6 former heavyweight champions in his career and 2 light heavyweight champions. 25 straight defenses and first retired with a 60-1 record knocking out 51 opponents. Joe Louis at his best was exactly that.... the best.
