Just so hard to justify jumping to that conclusion, looking at both fighters. One guy on the way up and the other had been around a long time. Look at Berbick--could he have fought a dumber fight? How so? He was never ever any sort of a puncher and he comes out trying to outslug Tyson. Hooks and uppercuts. He never had fast hands and here he is trading with a guy with twice the speed and twice the snap on his punch. And trying to back him up from the opening bell, instead of treading water to the 8th round or something and then maybe test him. Even that was likely not to work well. But slugging early?

Berbick also had fired Futch in another horrible decision after Eddie had worked his magic in his previous bout and had the guy well prepared and actually listening to his corner for that Thomas upset for the crown. No sense in keeping Eddie around, huh? But, that was Trevor.

I just don't pick that version of a Berbick that showed up for that Tyson fight to win very many bouts against any other heavyweight champs employing that style.
