Greatest post-Ali prime? I'm gonna go out on a limb and voice an uninformed, kneejerk opinion.

Not all things considered, not longevity, not H2H style match-ups, not even based on results of actual meetings, but if I get to choose the winner in a round-robin, go-'round tournament, and I get to put my guy at his best age, his best weight, and best mental state vs. the other guys at their best in all these categories, for just one night, for just one one fight? Gimme Tyson.

I switch Tyson & Holy. Tyson youngest titlist for me outweighs Holys dubious 4 time claim. I dont think he was the best heavy around for at least two of those times

Tyson was the best. Followed by Holmes or Lewis it's 50-50 in my view. Holyfield is 4th.

Using the criteria "greatest", which in and of itself is totally seperated from "best" -

    1. Tyson
    ...
    2. Holyfield
    ...
    ...
    3. Holmes
    4. Lewis

Using the criteria "best", which is very tough to quantify -

    1. Lewis
    2. Tyson
    3. Holmes
    4. Holyfield

I don't think Holyfield was that great at HW. Granted, he was (has been?) past his prime for the great majority of his HW career, but there's no handicaps for age when discussing boxing ability.

Tyson was better than Holmes, Lewis and Holyfield. The one from 86-88.
