Watching any of the tournaments all the way through is extremely rewarding. Each one featured some classic battles. Of the fights not mentioned - there are a few I can think of: Wanderlai Silva vs Guy Mezger Chuck Liddell vs Guy Mezger Anderson Silva vs Carlos Newton Royce Gracie vs Sakuraba Igor Voychanchan (sp) vs Mark Kerr I and II Although they've already been mentioned - I always thought the Wanderlai Silva vs Rampage Jackson fights were the pinnacle of ferocity in the Pride ring.
That guy does not sell to ireland. The pride middleweight grand prix 2003 came in the post a few days ago.
I remember that fight, That fight should of ended 2 minutes earlier. Enson Inoue was pretty much out cold in the middle of the round and the ref literally drags him to the middle of the ring to keep fighting. **** I miss the Pride FC rules, fights always ended in spectacular fashion.
Straight up. PRIDE rules kicked ass. Foot stomps soccer kicks knee's to a downed opponent n elbows on the mat etc.
Crazy **** right there. I hated UFC for killing pride. The steroids and all the rest of it sort of made it ridiculous but great fights in a truly great fighting arena. Get all of them while you can. They'll be very rare in years to come. Great memories. 2005 was a good year to check out.
