I'm not sure it was mentioned already, but the Pacquiao-Morales trilogy was fantastic, even though Morales had to crawl to the finish line at the end of the day, looking somewhat shot in the third one. Still, the action was splendid, and all three fights were important, sell-out scenes.
Those would be my top two as well, but MAB-Morales certainly comes close. And Vazquez-Marquez and even Gatti-Ward were extremely entertaining. If you want to talk about something that doesn't come close, watch the Ruiz-Holy trilogy. Otherwise, you are out of line. :smoke
Good call- the first fight was pure classic, the second was historically important ("No Mas"- it's all over!), and the third? Well, Leonard won.
For me Ali-Frazier edges it over Gatti-Ward and Barrera-Morales with Vazquez-Marquez in there with those quality trilogies. There isnt much to choose from many of the choices already suggested. What about the best single fight from any trilogy? Ali-Frazier 3 maybe? I can watch that all day. Pure quality from two big men over a 15 round limit. Conditions were sick and they fought each other virtually to a standstill. Now THAT was digging deep. Morales - Barrera 1 got my heart pumping. Shame the decision stunk the place out. Nothing like a couple of Mexicans going toe to toe for excitement.
