Spot on. I wentfor Munidne hard in the first fight, because i thought he could go on to big things, but if he fights Green again, it proves once and for all he's not going to try and take on the best. So that being the case, he deserves to be savagely ko'd by Green.
If Green was really smart, he would have had 2 fights in the last 6 months while denying a rematch with Mundine, therefore allowing Mundine to waste away to middleweight, then turn around and sign for the rematch to be held in 3 months, leaving Mundine as less time as possible to get strong enough to match Danny at LH. If Green has a better game plan then he can win. He needs to throw some punches that he doesnt normally throw, it will take power away from him, but we all know Danny doesnt need all his power to hurt choc.
I think Green needed the rest mate...I think he's suffered from a fair bit of pain throughout his body over the years...a few months off surfing and enjoying life will have done him the world of good I reckon...
Maybe. Hope your right. I wonder if he is pretty open minded in his comeback? Open to the idea of chasing a decent LH fight like Dawson, or even a past it Tarver.
Remains to be seen I guess - I can't fault the bloke for wanting some big bucks, but I dunno how he'd fare against the likes of Dawson...maybe he could take that RJJ fight after all? :yep
Green is a cat, nobody in Aus would have heard of him if it was not for Mundine! Get real people! How many of the general public have heard of Vic let alone Green!!!! Mundine love him or hate him creates more headlines than the rest put together! That is fact!!!! Mundine to smash green AGAIN for 10 rounds!!!!!
You're right...Mundine is better known for his empty promises than Vic is for his collection of title belts. The difference is Vic is the real deal, and Mundine is good, but we'll never find out how good, because he'll never test himself. Love to see Danny beat him, as would 90% of Australia, but it'll probably be Mundine in another canter.
I think Green has it this time. Alot of things are going his way - weight, location, timing (mundine from middleweight up to light heavy after fighting lesser opponents).. And the money, well who blames him? Who would put their body on the line for peanuts? I think the way he has gone about this is just plain smart. Perhaps his retirement was legit.. but I'm sure it would be hard to say no to 5 mill and a chance at redemption against someone as irritating as Mundine. Went for Green the first time, will be cheering for him this time.
I'm sick of both Mundine and Green. They had their big fight 2 yrs ago and it was a definative victory for Mundine. I'm not interested in excuses for Green such as weight drain etc. The bottom line is that Mundine is a better boxer than Green. Case closed, or it should have been case closed 2 yrs ago. I'm sick of pointless rematches in boxing. Mundine-Green part 2 = joke, Tarver-Dawson part 2 = joke. There is even plenty of talk about Hatton-Floyd Part 2 = ah FFS enough of this please. I say to Mundine - finally step up and fight Sturm who is a decent 160 champion, if not then f#ck off. To Green - Very poor the way you gave up your 175 title a few weeks before your first defence then stated that you won't be the typical boxer who comes out of retirement. Should have defended that title and proved you were a worthy titliest at 175.It's not as if you were a long reigning champ who had defended 5 or 10 times etc.You had just won the damn belt. I hope Mundine and Green both knock each other the f#ck out in this fight.
I agree, this was my feeling on the news too, but deep down I always knew this was gonna happen, I've been telling my mate all along he would never stay retired. Every time they interviewed Green over the past year, he kept saying "I'm retired but I'd never say never", blah blah. Retirement was always BS. Makes me wonder now, if Green was trying to duck Garay. After seeing his performances after Green vacated, it wouldn't suprise me one bit that he started doubting himself. Green and Mundine are just making a mockery of the sport of boxing in Australia. At least Choc will still have Teke and AJ as groupies who still think he's serious about EVER fighting a top contender. Can't wait for that big fight in the US in 2018 guys!!
no one ever heard of green pre mundine? shows how long you've been around the sport and sniffy chocs jocks TheMan! check the sydney papers the day he won his Olymoic bout in 2000? full page spread. choc was still winger how even after he sucked off the national sellectors he didn't get a national guersney! also won a commonwealth games bout when choc was unheard of.
