mate i was responding to the 4:1 odds thing only.

If left jab danny wanted to say that the experts thought Jones would school him then he should just say it.

Fact is (and it isnt dribble) the odds are worked out for financial reasons more than anything!!! That IS a fact.

    Ty,

I can't accept that a mandatory defence system works elsewhere.

If you disagree, check out what can be achieved with the WBA by taking a quick trip to Sth America. Amazing how a lowly ranked scrapper can miraculously find himself in the top 10 and lined up as the mandatory.

im no expert on this but i thought that you either worked your way up the ranks to get a shot at the title or you pay for it. To work your way up one just gets the top 1 rating for that belt then puts in a challenge? if this system did not exist the best boxers in the world would not be world champions because they would never get a title shot.

there are a couple of issues here

it is important to remember that just because a process is implemented poorly (or completely abused in many cases) elsewhere does not mean that the process in itself is not good!

The idea is to avoid a champ getting the title and then fighting total nobodies his entire career and fluffing his record for 15 years. It is thought that that is okay for a titleless boxer to do but not for a showpiece and recognised figure who "represents" the organisation. Really if an organisation has anything to stand behind and really say this is proof that we are legit it is their title holders.

Mandatory defences guarantee that the title fights are high quality fights between deserving opponents. Not high earning fights against nobodies.

Now the whole system has been completely ****ing abused but in principle it is important AND necessary.

Now your argument is really not that you dont need mandatory defences it is that really no mandatory defences is not any worse than bull**** bought off rigged mandatory defences.... I agree with that! I guess the IBO is being honest in that they dont give a **** about the quality of their champion.... basically it is disappointing but i guess the fact that by not having it they are being upfront the honesty is a bit refresshing, better than trying to create an illusion of legitimacy.

Basically mandatory defences are important to a healthy and respectable organisation, it appears though that it is rare for any current organisation to have a legitimate and not abused system or in the IBOs case no system at all.

:lol:Green has become Mundine.2 cherrypicking peas in a pathetic pod.at least the Org Mundine fights in you have to eventually fight a mandatory who is decent.e.g when Kessler was his mandatory he skedaddled to MW.Green can
fight Jeff Harding next and Perth will let it go.

Agreed.Mundine and Green aint gettin my money. Id much rather give it 2 Kat or Vic 4 fighting top 10 fighters and not ducking fighters who they think they cant beat.
I cant blame Mundine and Green 4 making money off these stupid people. I would do the same if in the position but they wont b taking my money thats 4 sure.
