Good example of nutritional requirement, that would require a particular supplement for an athletic pupose.

I was waiting for this old furfy. This has been chopped and changed numerous times over the last 30 years.
The jury is still out as to how much is really required.
Very large amounts of Vitamin C are rejected by our body, in the form of diarrhoea. There are other side effects.

BTW, there are many other ways to consume vitamin C other than oranges - kiwi fruit, broccoli, blackcurrants, parsley, guavas, chili pepper, brussel sprouts, and various berrys, are all higher in vitamin C, and commonly available.
    There are many more.
    And the associated side effects.
It's much better to pick up an apple.
It's not a medical fact at all, this is all myth, perpetuated by supplement companies, and supported by internet experts.
Go have a talk to your local GP, nutritionist, or chemist (ones that don't have their hands in the pockets of supplement companies).

I'm not talking about illegal PEDs (steroids).
In as much as proper food intake, most are, yes.
90% of the population are, and the drug companies love it.

I disagree, you are just disagreeing with people based on your own logic without recognising excellent points (see my post).

The amount of protein top class body builders require they would be eating whole day instead of training.

How so? Are you even reading what I said?

What's untrue about supplements being an easier way out for the lazy?

What's untrue about most people, including professional athletes, not eating properly?

What's untrue about the side effects of supplements (and them not telling you)?

You know as well as I do we live in a society where over processed junk food rules. Almost everyone (even the athletes) fall victim to it, it's a fact of life now.

Nonsense, some of the smart bodybuilders eat up to a dozen eggs a day, more than plenty for even their requirement.
The quality of of protein in an egg is substantially higher than in any supplement too.

But again, top shelf bodybuilders will be relying on illegal juice, with it's associated side effects...

LOL. Sox have you ever participated in sports at a higher level than a kick around in the local park? I think your either 1. really have no idea or 2. playing the troll. I really hope its no.2.

By the way 12 egg whites is what they eat for breakfast.

We are talking about boxers who run their immune systems down and have to make weight - how do you propose they get the required nutrients etc from food without exceeding their calories?

Most people do not eat properly, to say most athletes do not is a wild generalisation.

Supplements are exactly that for an athlete - a supplement to a healthy diet.

No. He wont slit his wrists. He hop onto the next plane to Tassie, take a cab to the Grange gym and tell Geale what he needs to eat in order to beat Martinez. All without supplements.

Sox when you gonna write that book providing top secret advice on proper nutrition for high performance athletes. I reckon you will make a few million from it if your claims are correct.

Tell Mr Universe to throw away his protein shakes and to replace it with your top secret diet. Unfortunately they will probably not believe the portly balding middle aged man.
