I agree with Shiner, why, pray tell, is Tarver 'completely shot'?

because he's old and semi-reitered. hasnt won a meaningful fight since beating woods (who wasnt that good anyway) in 08. then lost two lopsided fights with dawson. he beat some scrub last year but so i guess he's "back" right? just like jones after lacy.

    another dud in greens comeback
    dominguez (who)
shot roy (whats he like 6-6 in the past few years)
    retired siaca
    retired briggs
    BJ was ok
and now old man commentator tarver

And greenys a young guy aswell isnt he hammer? Would you rather shane cameron? This fight is going to give major exposure to theyoung guys on the undercard which is looming as a balltearer. Economically speaking its not viable to bring out troy ross or huck or cunningham, they wont get bums on seats, nobodys forcing you to watch it, theres plenty of people who approve of this fight

I get what your saying but in all fairness, as far as the general public are concerned i dont think Tarver is a more recognised name than the others you mentioned, unless they use RJJ's name in the promoition of the fight, a Cunningham fight in particular would have the general public and boxing fans alike scrambling for tickets, but understandably he would probobly request a substancial cut of the profits.

yeah good point but as you say tarver has that promotional edge with both of them beating jones jr by knockout. why isnt denis lebedev copping flak for fighting jones jr by the way? theres so much hate on here for green yet one of the much younger cruiserweights has has no excuse not to fight any of the top cruiserweights in the world is fighting an even more shot version of roy than danny did?

Plus pre Jones figh.t, Jones was tipped to make Green look as bad as he did Jeff Lacy

since 99 Tarver has averaged 2 fights per year so his activity has only dropped slightly and his opposition is superior to Greens IMO but i see your point.

how is tarver inactive though? his last fight was around the same time as greens? and he also became a proffessional boxer relatively late at the age of 28 , which has helpeed to sustain his longevity

RJJ had won 5 of his last 6 fights prior to fighting Danny and the so called scrub that Tarver beat in his last fight just happened to KO Oleg Maskaev a former WBC heavyweight champin 1rd:deal
This will be a tough test for Green i wouldn't underestimate Tarver putting in a good showing.
