Don't forget about the loss Tucker had early on---magically changed to a no contest once he signed up with DKP. Talk about standing still and feinting. The winner would be whomever Mr King wanted. And he was never really in Page's side and so I would go for a Tucker decision.
That statement is incredibly misleading. Tucker blew out his knee in the third round and was out for a year. And since only two rounds were completed, it was rightly ruled a no contenst. How does that have any bearing at all on a fight with Greg Page, honestly?
result was changed some time after the bout. Not immediately. He left the ring with a L. You were pointing out the warts and flat efforts of Page, Tucker was not without his early flaws either. And Tony sure didn't stray much from home and was the 3rd or 4th fighter on the cards. Same with all those golden glove heavies from that area back then===lots of hype and support. Not just Cooney, but guys like Tucker. Scott Frank. Bowe was loved. By far the best was Tyson. But the pedigree for Tucker was not that high and was hardly a can't miss prospect. He was matched extremely soft.
