His name change is particularly cringeworthy. If he could have put on an American accent would he have moved to California and called himself Chad Storm?

You obviously don't know the reason behind Robinson's name change.

"He received his name when he circumvented the AAU's age restriction by borrowing a birth certificate from his friend Ray Robinson."

Ali's change was religious reasons and if anything cost him fans.

    Why did 'Felix' change his?

So if you knew, which I'm happy to take your word for, why on earth would you compare them to Adnan's commercial cash grab?

For someone who takes as much pride in their nationality as you do, it seems a little odd that you'd defend someone willing to deny their heritage for cash.

He never denied his heritage....just wanted to cash in on his talents that's all. The Bosnian angle wouldn't sell too well in Germany so....

Anyway what about answering MY question sugar...jersey joe and Greb.....come on now....:)

He was pretending to be something he wasn't for cash. That's a sellout in my book and would be yours too if an Irish fighter took an English name and pretended to be British in search of a pound note.

Well Walcott named himself after the Barbadian fighter of the same name in tribute.

I thought Greb was called Harry/Henry Greb. Happy to hear the story behind any name change.

I don't want to start a thread or even a conversation about the mma & boxing and which is best but as a fan of both ive noticed ufc have been very compliant with wada (?) or usada resulting In some of their top assets being caught.regardless of the opinion of some ufc are a business involved in mma they are not the sport,my point is that if a business involved in a sport can be transparent (seemingly) to their detriment e.g Jon Jones killing 200 & Brock Lerner done for steroids from same card & negative publicity it caused why can't boxing? it seems a "name" is occasionally sacrificed to show they're taking action but In truth the lack of real action is enabling it.what's the solution? can the playing field be levelled or is it ingrained? I personally would try to have all governing bodies agree on a testing body and type of testing that ensures all fighters are subject to the same methods & regularity of testing in and our of competition any other ideas or is the money so important cheats will continue to prosper?

We must try to be more tolerant sugar.
Fighters are entitled to 'market themselves' to their audience. Countless fighters with European names the thick yanks couldn't ...or wouldn't....pronounce did the same.

I'll give you hint about grebs name...it also has to do with intolerance..do a bit of detective work...see if you can't figure it out...:)
