as I've said before, I'm shocked Hayemaker would give up his involvement in Groves' career. He is probably the most marketable of the current crop of prospects coming through and has shown he has a lot of potential inside the ring to.

Just because Haye might not fight again, I don't see why he should let Groves go. Him & Booth could act as managers like Mcguigan with Frampton and don't necessarily have to create another stable just to keep promoting him

Current crop- they've got no-one.... Hayemaker is currently combat ineffective.

Booth is still Groves's manager. But without Haye fighting, "Hayemaker Promotions" has nothing.

current crop in the sense of any british prospects with any other promoters too.

For example, hennessey has lost nearly everyone too but he's kept Fury, probably the biggest character he had. If he can use him to headline shows like the Chisora fight and be successful doing it, I can't see why Haye can't do similar with Groves

Different scenario though now, he doesn't need the money.

Hayemaker have no given up there involvment. Booth is still his manager and trainer and if Groves is a big enough star at the end of the matchroom deal he can go alone just like Haye did with Maloney a few years ago.

also why did u say (no rob palmer)

would it have been a bad idea for Groves to go with Hennesey if he could guarentee him 4 fights a year on Channel 5??

Yeah it would have been a bad idea, because he would have been with Hennesey...

From Groves' prospective, I'm glad it's Matchroom that he's going to though. They look the most committed to quality match ups and bringing their fighters along which to be fair is how Hayemaker have treated Groves in the past.

He should really be looking at fighting for world titles within the next 2 years.
