The late and great Emanuel steward could come back and be Grove's trainer on Saturday, but it wouldn't help groves. Boxing is about levels and Froch is at a different level to Groves. His fragile chin will be his biggest downfall i'm afraid. it will be an achievement for Groves if he sees the start of the 6th round.

 

Froch is not on a different level to Groves in terms of boxing skills. anyone with half decent boxing skills has more than a chance against Froch.

 

True, if you watched both boxers bouts with Johnson without knowing who was who, and you were asked who had the better skill set, it wouldn't be Froch.

Right at the beginning, when asked about Groves, Booth reveals that he's no longer his trainer, but he's still his manager.

From the media, and the fact that Booth's fees went to court, I was under the impression the split wasn't all the amicable, and yet he's still his manager?

 

Well he won the legal battle, which was over him getting his manager's fee for the Froch fight, so of course he's going to say he's still George's manager.

 

I see, I thought it was over fees as his trainer.

 

Yeah but then again if johnsons face was pixelated you wouldn't even realise they were fighting the same man. You know as well as everyone else does that Johnson was a shadow of his shell when he fought groves.

 

Johnson was a shadow of his former self back in the Super 6 and was only brought in as a replacement as was Green.

 

Was Kessler a shadow of himself when he beat and lost to Froch?

 

It's a good point, Kessler was an active fighter when he first fought Froch, before he fought Froch in the rematch it was 3 fights in three years, not ideal preparation.

 

Part of the reason why Kessler wans't prime anymore in the 2nd fight was because Froch f ucked up Kessler's eye in the first fight. Hasn't been the same since.

 

Kessler wasn't the same since the Calzaghe bout.

 

Both fights took something out of him no doubt. Needed Eye surgery after Froch though.

 

Your right about the surgery, but how many fighters would not have their skills diminish having 3 fights in 3 years. Maybe Floyd, other than that i can't think of anyone.
