i dont think Eubank will come in with a gameplan for this one I think he's over confident of knocking GG out like froch has done before. Jr only fights one way and I think he does so again in this fight.

GG will have a gameplan but what will it be? He could try to immediately walk Jr down and make him fight on the back foot, something Jr is uncomfortable doing and I don't remember seeing him do? Jr is comfortable when his opponent is on the back foot and on the ropes so he can unload.

I think GG knows this and will stay off the ropes and take centre of the ring and jab his head off. GG should target the uppercuts and rip into his body when he try's to bumrush.

Yes, he's matured a lot as a person since the Froch fight. He doesn't get as absorbed in the pressers like he used to. If you compare it to the Froch pressers there has been a role switch. Groves is now Froch and Jr is Groves i.e. Groves is a bit more 'been there, done that', whereas Jr is wanting to get under his opponents skin.

Said it from the beginning and will repeat, Eubank wins this easily.

Also I think it will be an earth-shattering KO. Young Christopher is going to blast out Groves like he did Yildirim, he's going to spark his lights out.

I think junior's arrogance got under GG's skin but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. G knows what happened in the past and junior exploiting this in his particular Eubankian manner must have grated on him. I reckon that, if G channels his ill feelings well junior's arrogance is going to backfire. Writing this, despite my personal distaste for arrogance, Junior has for many people talked himself into the position of being the next coming and guy to beat. After this presser I hope Groves shuts him up conclusively.

Too many people here especially in the general section make half hearted picks and then try to act like they foresaw the result after. If I'm wrong I'll come back and hold my hands up, not the end of the world.

    Cheers James :)

When Groves said he’d had harder fights, Eubank chipped in and asked him what fights were harder (not word for word this). Groves replied with Degale, Froch x 2, Jack, Chudinov...Eubank laughed and said “so all your fights then”.

I think he’s definitely insecure. Not about his fighting ability but about himself & what others think.

Lol. I was banned for about a week! Thankfully it expired today in time for the Eubank fight because I fully intend to bump every post I've made on this fight after Eubank wins.

You don’t half seem to get singled out for these bans, you get banned more than Joey Barton.

I’m nervous for this fight, i’ve gone totally for Groves...if he loses I’m going to get ribbed to bits haha.

Groves to win for me, perhaps by late stoppage.

Groves is far different to Eubank's previous opponents. A lot of them have been come-forward fighters lacking in defence and therefore Eubank has found it easy to get on the inside and land his hooks & uppercuts. Against Groves, due to his poor footwork I see him struggling to cope with his jab and despite his claims to have a great chin I think he will be wary of Groves' power. I can see George winning rounds and having success on the outside.

George has shown he is a bit prone to getting into a war with opponents which many think will suit Eubank. I don't see Chris steamrolling Groves like some others do, whilst his chin may be better Groves hits significantly harder imo. Eubank has been stunned before by lesser opponents so I can definitely see Groves hurting Eubank.

I also think Eubank's engine isn't as good as it is claimed to be, and I think Groves' is somewhat underrated. Therefore I see Groves as having most of the advantages physically or technically in this fight.

In terms of how the fight goes, I see George winning the early rounds but perhaps losing his composure during the mid rounds. I can see Eubank having success and going on the offence, but Groves setting up traps and catching him with a great body shot at some point during the fight. I think he will then go on the offence and stop Eubank later on.

Either way, this is a great fight and I look forward to it.

Aye but Barton deserves more tha he gets !! guy is a scumbag lol !! and I say that as a supporter of one of his former teams !!

But yeah Iv never seen any comment made by him that I thought was even controversial let alone ban worthy!

Good to have posters that when you disagree with their point dont take it personally!

ps no shame in either fighter losing one has to. I cannot call it, ill say right now im on the fence, I know Groves has the tools to win the fight and if he is on top form can even make it easy i think. However I can see legit reasons for Eubank swarming him and punishing him also. Think I would prefer Groves to win and maybe that in itself is making my judgement biased ?

I’m very confident that Groves will do a job, but...I have to accept that I could be also be letting my judgement be biased. I want to like Eubank, I really do. He’s an exciting fighter. I’m convinced i’ll like him a lot more after this, even in the likelihood of him losing. He’s talked the talk for so long but done it off the back of knocking domestic/Euro level fighters out. Now he’s in a real fight. Let’s see if he can punish George ‘for having the arrogance in getting in the ring with Eubank’ (Eubank, 2018).

Totally agree about @CutThroatFade . Always been a top poster.

No half hearted prediction I'm going with Groves but I'm still not sure how, that depends on Jr really, if Jr starts trying to rush Groves, jumping in and leaves the huge holes in his defence like he normally does then Groves will stop him but if Jr is sensible and a little more intelligent then Groves wins on points.

Jr's is not a big puncher, he isn't technically better than Groves, he is the smaller man, if Groves jabs then he controls the distance and then he also controls the pace and then Jr has serious problems.

I ask people this question all the time.. what is Jr's best win? Nobody seems sure, Yildrim? Who is he? What has he ever done?

Jr just isn't proven, he has Snapchat highlights of him knocking out or beating up novice pros, beating up really poor sparring partners, or hitting his wall apparatus.

He hasn't done it against anybody at Groves level and now he is being asked to do it at a weight above his natural weight class against a bigger, arguably stronger, very hard punching world champion.

Groves isn't Renald Quinlan, Spike or Yildrim, Groves is genuine.

All that said, if Jr wins I will log in and hold my hands up, say I was wrong and give him the credit he will deserve. If I have got predictions wrong I always log in and take my abuse.
