Groves is a testament as to why fighters should step up in competition to find their level and improve as fighters. The Anderson and Degale fights have given Groves invaluable experience. The Anderson experience may have won Groves the Degale fight. He saw red mist in that fight and started trading, had he done the same against Degale he might have got knocked out. He stuck to a gameplan and that experience is much better than the typical rubbish where he fights a bum and gets '12 rounds under his belt'.

Degale is also a testament to fighters stepping up. He'll be upset he lost but in the long run he will look to improve on his boxing offensively and defensively.

I'm glad these guys did it early. Let the best fight the best and find their level. Whether or not they lose a few along the way - who gives a ****. Fight the best at your level and keep venturing to the next level until you come up stuck, drop down a level again and repeat the cycle.

The one thing boxing people don't get is that if you come in shape, fight the best and give your best, the money comes. People hate on Leonard, DLH, Ali but they weren't just pretty boys. They got paid but their records speak for themselves.

I hope Groves and Degale keep testing themselves and I hope similar fights follow suit. Fury vs Chisora should be another nice domestic dust up between 2 undefeated fighters.
