Who? Good to see Vianello back in action, though, and it would be a huge win if Jolly could beat him.
Has David Adeleye retired, or what? He hasn't fought in a year, and last I read HE was going to fight Vianello.
Oh man been waiting a long time for this one!! Seriously, who gives a flying **** about this tune-up fight, one i would expect Guido to win pretty easily.
Vianello is a gatekeeper, not a serious contender. Who cares if he has a couple of "tune-up" fights? And apparently Jolly is a prospect, so Vianello is doing his job. It's like complaining that Bert Cooper was fighting some unknown prospect in his career; testing prospects is literally his job.
I mean, it was very short notice and this rather jolly guy is undefeated at least. Was hoping Riakporhe though.
I’ve read several comparisons between Moses Jolly and Muhammad Ali in terms of style, though I’ve never seen Jolly fight. I love Ali’s style though, so if the reports are true, can’t wait to see what he’s got.
He has a very loose and relaxed style and moves around the ring a lot but he doesn't really have alis style, Jolly is a lot more awkward and doesn't move his head or upper body
Just watch his fights, and I only see the punch selection as being slightly reminiscent of Ali’s style. He doesn’t have the speed, defense, foot placement, or ring IQ that made Ali an ATG. If he has a good chin, this will be a barn burner for four or five rounds before Vianello KO’s him due to his poor defense. Maybe I’m being too harsh. Have a look: Moses Jolly vs Yury Bykhautsou This content is protected Moses Jolly vs Will Howe (starts at 4:37:50) This content is protected Post-fight interview after the Howe fight This content is protected Very entertaining fighter, and I love the Native gimmick. Makes me wish Joe Hipp had a time machine so he could fight in the current era. Joe Hipp is levels above Jolly, though.
I see what you mean regarding his style. Watched that first fight you provided and sure enough, he gets clipped by the right hand VERY easily. That will cost him as he moves up in competition. Ah Joe “The Boss” Hipp, now you’re talking! One of my favorite fighters as you can see by my avatar. I miss watching Joe’s fights, I try to watch one or two every year or so. I’ve met him many times, he is a very friendly guy.
Not a terrible opponent with just 12 days notice, he's undefeated 12-0 (albeit against soft opposition ) and in his prime at age 30. Jolly will probably be highly motivated to win this and raise his profile.
Yeah, I caught that profile picture. Joe Hipp is 100% the man. I think every real heavyweight boxing fan knows his amazing fights with Bert Cooper and Tommy Morrison, but few talk about his underrated fight with Puritty. He had tons of good fights; the problem is that most of them aren't properly archived. I remember he had good fights with Rodolfo Marin and Jesse Shelby, but I haven't seen them on YouTube. I'll probably search for them. He was actually supposed to fight Michael Moorer for the title instead of Foreman, but something happened and the fight fell through. I think he could have beaten Sheldon if he had actually fought the way he normally did. Instead, he boxed to Sheldon's strengths. It's a shame he boxed in such a tough era. He could beat a good chunk of the fighters in the top 50 today.
