Is it really that much better paid? He was playing at a semi-pro level I believe, earning £300 a week. I imagine what he's getting is pretty similar in boxing, maybe a little less.

I could be wrong but I'm sure he dropped down to conference level while he was starting out the boxing career.

Also I'm sure i saw something where starting his boxing career cost him savings, which if is right is a brave decision to take.

I think Curtis could answer this but i think he could of quite easily stayed in Football League just turning up and going through motions to get his ££££ but he didn't want the easy life he wanted to chase a dream. He dropped to conference level to make a go of this. He sacrificed a lot to be in sport i think people should lay off him IMHO.

Top man. With your attitude I'm sure you will come again and be better for it. Great sport with the Frankie thing and I think the sparring would be excellent learning experience for you. Best of luck.

Well said that man. I'd love to see the ring records of some of the big mouth tossers on here that call fighters "cowards" bet they're the same tossers that when do the "EASY, EASY" chants and hand gestures when their favourite fighter win from the safety of the stands...

He played for some big and I remember somebody paying big money for him when he was in the Championship, might have been Birmingham? I reckon he could have made a comfortable living from football if he'd wanted to so it took some balls to pack it in and take up boxing.

Yeah he played for Birmingham/Sheffield United and was with Grimsby when he made decision to pursue boxing. He has my respect before even entering ring.
