Absolutely! Marvin got worked! What do you mean about the beautiful woman? He was married to Bertha at the time, and didn't get remarried until much later.
Didn't know he was still married to Bertha, but Kay is a looker also, especially in more than one way.
Mike's is an interesting, and slightly unfortunate situation. He wasn't really much of a sell when he claims he was being ducked. I believe they may have been lining him up for Duran but then the Superfight between Hearns and Duran was signed, and why would it no be. So Mike was ambling along, obviously a good fighter but not making much noise. Even beating Julian Jackson didn't do to much for him as Jackson was very much an unknown quantity at this time. Troubling Mike actually got him some good exposure. So the big 4 only had eyes for each other. Mike was known to be a very good fighter but there was no public demand to put him in big bouts with Hagler, SRL, Hearns or Duran and therefore no money. They were never going to fight an obviously good fighter for no money. Duran post Hearns basically disappeared for some time and was out of the picture. McCallum did not even campain at 160 until Hagler was retired. Hearns had much bigger fish to fry and SRL was barely fighting at all and sure wasn't going to be to fight a McCallum. Mike wasn't that much of a name until he beat the still highly regarded Donald Curry in 87 and even then Curry had been a 2-1 favorite, which showed McCallum really wasn't that highly thought of. McCallum still would not have garnered a high enough purse for the big names to fight him. Ironically he would have had to beat one of the big 4 to crack attract the attention (read - money) needed to get fights with them. He did not have a dynamic enough style to break in without them. So basically he was never ducked, there was just numerous circumstances going on.
Hagler wanted a rematch badly but SRL would not give him one. Hagler hung about for a year then retired after getting sick of waiting. SRL offered him a rematch a couple of years later but Hagler was by then disinterested in boxing and over the loss.
He did very little. So did Leonard. For a start, most obvious point, Hagler landed by far the best punches in round 4.
