I don't see it. I don't see any reason why Tarver should be a fight Calzaghe should pursue. I don't see it being particularly meaningful--Tarver has no titles, although if it got made he would find a way to get that IBO strap he always seems to have--and I don't see anything in Tarver's style that would make it a particularly exciting fight; If Hopkins and Dawson could back Tarver up, I don;t see Joe having any sort of difficulty. I'm actually a fan of Tarver, I like his style and the way he promostes his fights, but I just don't see this as being any benefit to anyone except Tarver, who gets a fat payday and a chance to land another lucky punch.
isnt he from the same area (Northeast) as Chad Dawson???? so wouldnt he know that Chad beat Tarver? ha idk calzaghe-tarver is a joke
nomatter who joe calzaghe faces, there will allways be a new opponent waiting. He will allways have fans and critics, even haters. IF he fought Dawson and Tarver, and won that wouldnt change that fact. Joe Calzaghe should IMO retire now, undefeated. With a great record AND nothing left to prove...the man is 37,have had a lot of handinjuries and should call it a day.
Good point..I hate 'the rematch clause'. However I think Tarver would gladly step aside if the $$ was right!
Yes my friend, there are two kinds of posters in this world, those who speak in dichotomies and those who doesn´t
Maybe Hagler is being sarcastic because those are the kinds of fighters that Calzaghe is going for now. A Tarver fight makes no sense right now. Johnson and Dawson are the only ones worth fighting at 175.
I think Hagler mentioned Tarver due to what he did to Roy. Tarver is probably going to get his rematch with Dawson. What if.......Tarver wins.
